When is stress a good thing? 👀

Before you launch a business.

I'm talking about intentionally stress testing your business idea before you invest months of your time, energy, and money bringing it to life.

We get emotionally invested in our business ideas - we've spent hours building out the concept, asking AI for business advice 😏 (which is almost as bad as asking it for medical advice). We create messaging, brand pillars, we design the offer, we've probably created the logo and already see it on baseball caps🧢, t-shirts & maybe even dreamed about an amazingly lavish launch party 🥂 - so yes- our💚💚💚 are invested.

It's not surprising that this is the step many aspiring business owners skip.
But your conviction or hours spent on your business idea isn't validation.

Your target market gets to decide whether your business solves a problem they care enough to pay for.

That's why stress testing is so valuable.
Not because you're looking for people to tell you your idea is brilliant - and BTW if you are stress testing the idea with friends & family (DON'T) - they are going to tell you it's brilliant. Choose focus groups that will challenge your concepts.

You may hear things that test your assumptions, your pricing, your messaging, or even your entire business model. It's far better to make adjustments after twenty honest conversations than after you've invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours launching a business the market doesn't actually want.

Find the holes, the broken messaging, pricing objections before your actual customers find them for you. Then make the changes or pivot entirely. Better to know before you go.
