National Comfort Institute NCI is a training, certification, & membership organization created to help HVAC contractors succeed.

We accomplish this by focusing on the delivery of true heating and cooling system performance in the systems our contractors design, sell, install, and service. This includes residential and light commercial forced air and hot water systems. We have termed this type of total system measurement "Performance Based Contracting," and we believe it is the future of HVAC contracting.

A Morning Thought

Many people develop an inferiority complex because a few bullies, who suffer from inferiority complexes themselves called them stupid, or fat, or ugly. The truth is superiority or inferiority is the product of your own psychological make-up. Nobody can dictate your feelings unless you give them the power to do so.

Remember, you are uniquely you – there has never been, and will never again be, anyone else in the world exactly like you. What’s important is that you find your true calling, realize your worth, and be yourself. Take pride in yourself and your actions. Your confidence will keep the haters in check. Never allow anyone to treat you like a doormat.

A Morning Thought

When it comes to the way we interact with others, at one point or another we may forget the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

It doesn't cost any more time or effort to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner, yet sometimes, even without realizing it, we can be rude and unprofessional when it comes to the way we deal with their coworkers or customers. Unfortunately, most do not recognize this when it happens.

How do you interact with others? Do you try to be consistent, even-tempered, empathetic, and pleasant to be around? Are you viewed as someone people enjoy being around, or do most try to avoid you unless absolutely necessary?

Be honest about this, and before blaming others, check your attitude.

If you're not sure how you're perceived by your coworkers, ask someone you feel you can trust to be straight with you. If you're genuine in your desire to know, and make the other person feel secure about giving you honest feedback, you'll get some good insights into how you are viewed by others.
