🍎 Alliance Health partnered with Cumberland, Johnston and Harnett Counties to provide fresh produce and snack bags along with crisis information to families coming to their back-to-school vaccine/immunization clinics. 🍏

In North Carolina proof of required immunizations are required within 30 days of the first date of attendance of school. After 30 days, children are to be excluded from school until the family provides documentation of requirements.

The inaugural Staying Alive: Su***de Prevention Awareness Summit, hosted by the QPR & MHFA Instructor Collaborative, brought community members together for an afternoon focused on hope, awareness, and su***de prevention.

As part of the summit, Alliance Community Education Specialists Amy Rudisill and Chary Caraballo provided QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) su***de prevention training, with Chary offering the training in Spanish. Participants learned how to recognize warning signs, engage in meaningful conversations, and connect someone experiencing a su***de crisis with appropriate help.

The event reinforced an important message: we all have a role to play in creating communities where people feel supported, connected, and empowered to ask for help. ***dePrevention

October is Down syndrome Awareness month. Join us this October in celebrating those with Down syndrome, breaking down stereotypes and promoting inclusion!

Down syndrome affects how a child develops, physically and cognitively, and it looks different in every person who has it. What doesn't vary: people with Down syndrome go to school, hold jobs, live independently or with support, and have full relationships.
