Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District LRSWMD accepts Electronic Waste at our Johnson, Morrisville, and Stowe Transfer Stations.

Reuse items are accepted at our Stowe site. Plastic Shopping Bags are accepted at all transfer stations. Hazardous Waste Collections are held two - three times a year for businesses and households.

Confused by plastics recycling in Vermont?

Plastic containers #1 and 2 are banned from the trash and are accepted at all recycling drop-offs and curbside. This includes water bottles, milk jugs, peanut butter jars, shampoo bottles, salad tubs, etc.

Containers #5 (like yogurt tubs) are not banned from the trash but are widely accepted in mixed recycling.

Stretchy film plastic like plastic bags and bubble wrap can be recycled in special collection bins (but never in mixed recycling).

Other random plastics like black plastic, foam containers, and compostable plastic are generally not accepted for recycling in Vermont.
