The Department of Veterans Affairs is accepting applications for a new job training program that leads to certificates, associates degrees, or technical degrees.

The program offers training in dozens of professions, including:

CDL driver;
Cosmetology;
Cybersecurity;
Dental assistant;
HVAC technician;
Graphic design;
Massage therapists;
Medical insurance billing;
Welding.

The program will give veterans a monthly housing allowance and pay for the training

On June 27, 2003, Rear Admiral Barry C. Black (Ret.) was elected the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate. He began working in the Senate on July 7, 2003. Before coming to Capitol Hill, Chaplain Black served in the U.S. Navy for over twenty-seven years, ending his distinguished career as the Chief of Navy Chaplains. Chaplain Black has been recognized for his outstanding service in support of equal opportunity and civil rights. He was chosen from 127 nominees to receive the 1995 NAACP Renowned Service Award.

Chaplain Barry Black is one of my favorite preachers/teachers. I was fortunate to attend his first bible study at the Senate and most of the ones that followed. Sitting under his teaching was a blessing!
