Leaders from educational institutions across seven states visited our facility yesterday with a clear goal: see firsthand what we're doing in manufacturing and with our apprentice program, and bring it back to their own communities.

We're trying to close the gap between what's taught in the classroom and what's needed in the future workforce.

Grateful to host the Strategic Horizon Network, and hopeful the visit sparked something they can use!

When IC Automation designed this system, the customer needed a part every 30 seconds. They got there by running two redundant lines, each capable of a part per minute, with a smart pallet conveyor moving parts through each process in between.

What that setup gives you is buffer. If a machine needs to come down for a tool change, production doesn't stop, parts keep flowing through the other operations. It also keeps the floor footprint a lot smaller than a manual process would require.

That kind of flexibility is what makes automation sustainable at scale!

We measured the impact on tool life during a milling application between TENDO Platinum hydraulic tool holder and an ER25 collet chuck.

The TENDO Platinum averaged 6 cylinders while the collet chuck only made it through 3.5.

The best robotic automation doesn't replace skilled workers, it promotes them!

In this interview, we sit down with Fritz Carlson, CEO and President of Acme, who's spent years introducing robotic solutions into medical implant manufacturing.

When a precision-critical implant is being finished, like an as-cast knee, it needs to be made perfectly. Surface finish directly affects how long that implant lasts inside a patient's body. A robot can hold tolerances a human physically can't, especially on complex geometry like a J-curve.
