A Resurrection Story🌱

It looked like our lavender plant didn’t make it from last year. She and her environment were bone dry.

As I was about to repurpose her soil, a small voice inside said, “water her.”

Decades into my following sparks journey, I continue to learn not to argue with this voice. And yet I had a small supply of rain water that I was prioritizing for the established seedlings I was transitioning outdoors.
•
•
But following that small, quiet voice, I watered. No change the next water day… The voice again said, “water her.”
•
•
The third time, I watered and let the spark of belief within me meet the voice when I watered.
•
•
And when The Littles and I went to check, lo and behold, not one but two seedlings!!
•
•
We celebrated! I think she felt us and she stood up even stronger.
•
•
There’s a lot going on that gives the appearance of something once on the path of thriving, now shriveling, and being forced into premature death. If the small voice nudged you to water with your heartbreak and disbelief, would you do it? Could the practice of watering anyway build faith? Faith requires inspired action before proof of certainty or attachment. Meg Wheatley teaches about doing what needs to be done as deeply purposeful work that may not be sparkly especially when we do not know how that piece feeds the whole.

What if the tears we share as we grieve so much is the rain water needed in the atmosphere—now. A sacred acknowledgement that meets tears of all of life past & present…
•
•
I read recently that plants can sing songs that summon what it needs that is inaudible to humans.
•
•
Perhaps my lavender plant summoned that rain water through me. Perhaps my prayers to strengthen my belief during this time of challenge was answered in these moments?
•
•
The world we live in is complex and mystical. My hope is stirred. I am deeply grateful for this moment and to share it with The Littles… and now with you…
•
•
Be encouraged. Please respond to your sparks and nudges and embrace life as your purpose partner especially when life is difficult.

The times are urgent, let us slow down…
And consider…
Where am I?
I found myself in a foreign place
Where the reckoning, deconditioning, and curiosity practices move in warp speed…
A speed that keeps revealing I am not in control and invites a surrender that is both necessary and scary…
Where is the place of this surrender that allows me to BE with all that’s coming my way, our way?
When I remembered the theme of the hopes that I carry—flourishing for all—the place revealed itself—the compost pile, of course!
In this case prepositions matter, IN the compost pile not ON it.
I am composting with A LOT of DIFFERENT ideas about what flourishing looks like AND the webs of associated entanglements.
I am with the creepy crawly things…
I stink.
I am disheveled.
When I try to speak from familiar places I up chuck cognitive dissonance, necessary for the composting pile.
My insides hurt and yet it’s a clean pain.
I meet elders in the compost pile that have been reckoning with my new insights for a long time.
They humble me.
They tutor me in compassion and insight.
I meet all forms of life I am entangled with that have been paying the costs of ignorance for a long time. We grieve our experiences—the knowing and not knowing…
And just when I think I’m clear to step ON the composting pile as modernity urges me to do, the turning fork with Life at the helm, moves me to the next area of darkness within the pile of what will one day nurture the next becomings.
Maybe I will witness the next becomings but I will for sure be in them.
This is my initiation into what it means to be a multi-dimensional being.
A part of me is in process in some deep composting and another aspect is living life during great change…
In this everyday living you may find me showing up really composty…
Leaving dirty, funky, other worldly footprints in clean and neatly organized places thought to have been sorted out…
Sometimes releasing tears instead of smiles…
Creepy crawly unnamed things may be left behind and yet they know their purpose. They know where they are and invite us to see where we are.

Here’s an invitation to tap in to your inner spark to connect with your spheres of impact.

The ways we thought about spheres of impact are being reimagined from popularized notions of power and impact to our inner wells of wisdom, being and serving.

What if we are invited to take a purposeful pause to connect with our purposeful response?
•

The speed and frequency of disruption may trigger reactions. Being grounded during times of unusual change requires response by a network of response teams activated by the spark that connects us all. There is exponential power here that considers the whole of life.
•
•
As well as we believe we know our inner spark, or perhaps not very well, nuances of it are activated and revealed through changes in our environment and consciousness (inner & outer). Do you know of times when you tapped in to a reserve or solution that you didn’t know you had available? Have you witnessed that in others?
•
•
I perceive this time as an invitation for us to share our patches of insight with compassion to quilt together something we can only see through each other.

There is exponential power in the beingness of our inner sparks.
•

During the between times—between what is & what’s becoming—our inner spark may fluctuate. It’s a part of our spark revealing more to us. Darkness is purposeful & can be really hard.
•
•
If we have the capacity to connect with our inner spark, we can extend that capacity with others through our intention. We can intend, “I extend my spark to those who could benefit from it in ways known and unknown across time and place.” We can imagine our spark traveling like the wind and waking up the sleeping sparks in others. Have you ever felt refreshing love, encouragement, prayers, or hope? Powerful, isn’t it?

Has your capacity been so low that your inner spark feels like a flicker, or perhaps you do not feel it at all. Some call this a dark night of the soul. Your spark is still there because you are still breathing. It needs something to fan it. Which could be your belief that somewhere, someone is being with you sending refreshing love, compassion, hope, well wishes, prayers before the action is clear. It makes me wonder if being intentional is a sacred action?

When our inner spark feels dim, what if we practice our receiving muscles by intending, “I am open to sparks known and unknown, near and far sent to ignite my spark and refresh my spirit.”What if we practice our faith muscle by intending, “even if the actions and environment closest to me do not reflect back the gifts of humanity my inner spark connects me to, I know the helpers are here, right now, and our shared belief connects us.”♾️

When times are hard, remember your spark. There are peeps who intend and are taking inspired action for the flourishing of your spark✨ I personally know many & I believe you to be one. May this increased & deepened knowing nourish & refresh our being & connnect and inform our doing connected to the exponential power that is for our collective flourishing.

The quality of this activation is not in the realm of reaction; but rather a response of one who is integrating being a soul having a human experience.

This activation taps into inner and Divine resources that are beyond ideas of impact at the expense of another—rather impact that relates and considers the whole.

THIS activation spans generations—past, present and future.

THIS activation taps into the field of possibility where we shift realities before strategies and action plans become clear.

THIS quality of activation gathers us beyond composting narratives, familiar trappings and auto sound bites.
•

THIS activation nourishes at the root and allows our mycelium networks of grounded hope to find each other across this globe and cosmos.

THIS activation allows us refuge in foreign places while the change we pray and believe for disrupts and leaves NO stones unturned.
•
•
THIS activation says, “yes, you are here at this time, with your piece for a reason.”
•
•
Ah yes, THIS is activated, it was always there. May WE continue to upload, download and share.
•

To our collective activation, deepened witness, care, reckoning, peace beyond understanding, joy in strange places…
•

Stay with your Divine curricula. Know what is for you and what is not or just for another purpose peep. Be encouraged. And Do in Divine timing with faith, awe and trust. With a growing network remembering and deepening how to BE with and FOR our collective flourishing.

I am thankful to be reminded of this wisdom twice yesterday. Once by during the ceremony and again within a clip from an address by Angela Davis. God really knows how to make it clear to each of us, “yes, I AM speaking to you, your soul and your spark to enliven, and to share with others.”

In times of unprecedented change—poly-crisis—it’s in the practices of slowing down that we move from reactions and auto-pilot, aka the places where we get stuck, to noticing things that live beyond the noise, auto-pilot, and rhetoric…

It feels like being ready to push new life into being and your support crew saying, “no, pant, breathe, not yet.” Why?
•
•
Because they see obstacles, understandings that could impede the birthing process with the potential to cause harm in the process.

3 of “The Littles” are off to school today. Sage is just starting her journey today💗

Senator Rev. Warnock told a story during the rally. VP Harris asked/told everyone to write someone a letter at a pivotal time in our shared history—-and handed out letterhead (IYKYK)! Senator Rev. Warnock wrote to his then 5 year old daughter.

Paying the moment forward, I am writing a letter to “The Littles” about this time in history. I’ll keep it private and share the beginning because this is the spoken and unspoken (through shared glances and tears) convo shared during the rally:

Dear Littles,

I apologize for almost letting you down. Gigi always votes as a fought for privilege. And Gigi also knows that what really moves and galvanizes us during times of great challenge and possibility is found in our heart, devotion, faith and belief in something better. This is one of our superpowers. I almost let you down because I was not using my superpowers.

Science tells us that when things happen that cause us to feel invisible, erased, excluded, or unheard, our bodies feel it as physical pain. Sometimes things are words and sometimes those words are laws and policies that last far longer than moments when we make choices that are less than our best selves. Although it’s natural to care for ourselves when this happens, it is also on us to see to do our part to ensure these things do not happen again.

Our superpowers help us to do this. Love is another superpower. I love you too much to not prepare a better future for you.

On 7/30/2024, Gigi attended a gathering with other people who were choosing to keep their hearts open, to believe and take action FOR better words and experiences FOR the people, including people who differ from us. Whenever I feel things are too hard or impossible, I promise to take care of myself AND bring all that I am (my heart, belief, faith, prayers and action) to what is needed for change and not do just the minimum. That’s how your ancestors lived and I remember and feel them. I hope you remember how I lived and that these words spark the strength and power that lives within and through you✨
