Big news Idaho! Points Consulting just released the 2025 Affordable Housing Index in collaboration with LEAP Housing. In this FREE white paper, we rank 147 cities using 18 distinct housing metrics. Housing is clearly the biggest concern for city leaders and economic developers across the state. But, to this point, we have not had an authoritative source comparing conditions city by city. Enjoy! We hope it will benefit public discourse and encourage attainable housing solutions. A sneak peak:

🔥Ketchum is the hottest market, overall
🎓 Moscow is 68th (right next to Meridian at 67th)
🏛️ Region 3 (which includes Ada and Canyon counties) has the greatest concentration of “hot” and “lukewarm” markets at 83% of cities.

Points Consulting and Harby + Points served as Best in Show award sponsors for the Latah County Independence Day Parade. The competition was stiff from a Betsy Ross’ living room, to a Hendrix style electric performance of the Star Spangled Banner, to a 25 foot tall combine, and a live pig roast! But the top prize went to Apex Roofing for their Old Glory themes shed.

Are you informed of the costs of El Paso's Climate Charter initiative? Hitting the ballots this spring is a charter that could spell economic decline to the tune of -198K jobs, -$9.2B in earnings, and -$32.8B in output for El Paso Texas. Though PC assumed rapid escalation of solar power within the impact study, the majority of economic losses are due to reduced productivity from a steep drop in electric capacity. In short, El Paso County’s economy would decrease by -40.8% by 2045, and the average household would suffer a loss of -$38.8K from their current $51K in annual income should the charter pass.

Greater Idaho...could it happen? No better time to release the culmination of our 16-month effort to quantify the Economic Impact of Moving the Idaho-Oregon State border. The Idaho House of Reps is currently discussing this proposition and soon the Senate will be as well. Though this issue is politically contentious, our team sought to be as balanced and comprehensive as possible in this assessment. We are proud of this work and believe it will stand up well to scrutiny from any angle.
