Closer to home. And this is the major north south highway in Idaho.
Image description: two images of a 2-lane highway, one labeled 8:00 a.m. and the second one labeled 2:00 p.m. In the first image a flooding river has cut to the white line at the edge of the road. The 2:00 image shows the road disintegrated halfway to the center line of that lane.
GETTING WORSE: These side-by-side pictures show how conditions have worsened throughout the day Monday on Highway 95 near milepost 296 approximately four miles south of Lapwai. The first picture (top) taken around 8:00 a.m., shows the flooding and road deterioration right around the shoulder line. The second photo (bottom) taken around 2:00 p.m. shows just how much worse the situation has gotten.
The northbound lane of US95 remains closed. ITD crews are on scene monitoring the situation.
