Easter reminds us of something we don’t always live like is true.

That we were never meant to hold everything on our own.

Not the outcomes.
Not the pressure.
Not the weight of getting it “right.”

Because of Him, we’re invited into something different.

Trust.

A Closer Walk is a small, live space where we come together to slow down, reconnect with God, and practice what this looks like in real life.

We begin tomorrow.

If this resonates with you, you’re welcome to join us for the quarter or simply come as a guest Tuesday, April 7th and get a feel for it 💕

Most communication issues aren’t actually about words.
We tend to think they are-
what to say, how to say it, when to say it.

But more often, what’s shaping the conversation is happening underneath that.

In the moment, we’re often navigating:

pressure
uncertainty
the need to get it right
the desire to control the outcome

And in that space, something else is at play-

Trust,

or the lack thereof...

That internal posture shows up in how we speak, how we listen, and how we respond.

Which is why even the “right” words don’t always land the way we intend.

And when trust begins to shift,

communication does too.

Not because we’ve mastered a better script,
but because we’re no longer holding the conversation the same way.

That will be part of what we will be exploring this quarter in A Closer Walk

If this has been resonating, please consider joining us this quarter (or coming as a guest on April 7 to get a feel for what it is).

We spend a lot of time trying to fix situations.

But often, what’s actually exhausting us isn’t the situation itself...

it’s the pressure we’re carrying inside it.

The overthinking.
The responsibility.
The need to get it “right.”

That’s where mental fitness, faith, and real-life practice start to overlap.

Not by removing responsibility-
but by changing how we relate to it.

That’s a big part of what we practice inside A Closer Walk.

We begin April 7.

If this feels familiar, you can learn more in the link in my bio.

A Closer Walk doesn’t fit neatly into a category.

It’s not a course.
It’s not really a Bible study.
And it’s not traditional coaching.

It’s a small, live space where people come together to:

• reflect
• talk honestly
• connect
• and practice walking closer to God in real life

Not perfectly.
But honestly.

There’s structure-but not pressure.
Guidance-but also space.

And over time, something shifts.

Not because everything changes-
but because something shifts in how-and who-you trust with it.

We begin April 7.

If this has been resonating, you can learn more in the link in my bio- or feel free to message me.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some reflections about responsibility, control, and trust.

And many of you have reached out to say some version of:

“This feels familiar.”

That’s exactly why A Closer Walk exists.

It’s a small, live space for thoughtful people who:

• care deeply
• carry a lot of responsibility
• want to trust more fully
• and are ready to explore what that actually looks like in real life

Not in theory.

In the middle of real decisions, real relationships, and real uncertainty.

The next quarter is called:

Trust That Strengthens
Letting go of outcomes without letting go of responsibility.

We begin April 7.

If this has been resonating, feel free to message me or comment “info” and I’ll send you the details.

Most people don’t need more information.

They already know a lot.

What’s harder is living it — especially in the middle of real responsibility, real decisions, and real uncertainty.

That’s where the tension shows up.

Wanting to do what’s right…
while feeling the pressure of the outcome.

Trying to trust…
while still holding everything together.

The conversations inside A Closer Walk aren’t about having the right answers.

They’re about learning how to carry things differently.

And practicing what that looks like in real life.

Our next quarter begins April 7.

Trust is often described as something we either have… or struggle with.

As if some people naturally trust more easily than others.

But in real life, trust rarely grows from certainty.

It grows slowly.

Through practice.

Through noticing when we start gripping the outcome.

Through learning to carry responsibility without carrying everything.

Most of us are practicing this every day -for better or for worse- whether we realize it or not.

This is what we’ll be exploring more of in the next quarter of A Closer Walk.
We start April 7.

Control rarely announces itself as control.

For many thoughtful, capable people, it feels like responsibility.

It feels like caring.
It feels like staying on top of things.
It feels like doing what needs to be done.

And at first, it even feels productive.

But over time, something else starts to show up.

The constant mental load.
The quiet pressure to hold everything together.
The feeling that if you loosen your grip, things might fall apart.

And what once felt like care and leadership can slowly begin to feel heavy.

Sometimes the question isn’t: Am I responsible enough?

Sometimes the question is: Am I carrying something that was never mine to hold?

At some point it’s worth asking:

Is this responsibility…
or is this control?

That question has been on my mind a lot lately.

More soon.

Trust doesn’t mean caring less.

Most people who struggle with trust don’t struggle because they’re apathetic.
They struggle because they care deeply.

They pray.
They think things through.
They want to do what’s right.

And somewhere along the way, responsibility quietly turns into carrying more than was ever theirs to hold.

Trust doesn’t ask us to disengage.

It invites us to stay fully present…
while loosening our grip on the outcome.

Sometimes the shift isn’t about doing less.

Sometimes it’s about carrying less.

If surrender feels irresponsible, what if we’ve confused surrender with passivity?

Surrender isn’t apathy...
or disengagement...
or “whatever happens, happens.”

It isn’t lowering your standards
or caring less.

Real surrender is full engagement -
without gripping the outcome.

For many of us, the hesitation around surrender doesn’t come from lack of faith.

It comes from a deep sense of responsibility.

That’s not a flaw- but responsibility can quietly slide into control when we aren’t paying attention.

Maybe surrender isn’t about doing less.
Maybe it’s about carrying less.🕊️

That distinction changes everything.🧡

You can be deeply responsible…
without gripping the result.

Trust is not passive.
It doesn’t mean you stop caring.
It doesn’t mean you stop showing up.

It means you release what was never yours to control in the first place.

That space -
where you act fully but loosen your attachment to the outcome -

That’s where strength is built. 💪🏻
