Job Description
Scope & Purpose: Under the direction of the Controller, the Accountant/Cost Accountant will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and review expenses, payroll entries, A/P, invoices, and other accounting documents.
Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.
Make collection calls and assist with resolving accounting discrepancies.
Maintain financial databases and manual filing systems.
Input financial data and create reports.
Maintain financial reports for real estate properties.
Process various accounting related reports required by management or government agencies.
Perform bank reconciliations for checking, savings, and payroll accounts.
Assist with other accounting functions, such as taxes, monthly and yearly financial reports.
File and maintain clerical records and reports,
Follow all housekeeping procedures.
Comply with all quality, safety and sanitation regulations.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications: Requires education generally equivalent to bachelor's degree or equivalent related training in related duties. Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred (2 years).

Knowledge of standard Accounting procedures and practices.

Skill in recording information accurately.
Skill in compiling and organizing information.
Knowledge of Accounting procedures and controls.
Knowledge and ability to implement Cost Accounting procedure analysis in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of Epicor is a plus.
