-- I have a question for all of you. What season of life are you in right now? Are you in the season of being up all night with a cranky newborn who doesn't want to sleep? A toddler who won't stay in their bed? Maybe an elementary aged school child who is afraid of the dark and only wants comfort from their parents? Or are you in the season of life like I am - I'm doing everything for everyone. Getting everyone to a,b,c,d,e,f,g and then xyz. We are doing all of the things (literally) all while trying to still just live and do daily tasks.
Whatever season you're in - as hard as it may be in this moment (and I KNOW it's hard and feels like it's never ending) - enjoy it. Take it all in. Your newborn won't always need you in the middle of the night. Your teens won't always need you as their taxi. Your toddler will end up sleeping in their own bed one day. Just remember, you're never alone when you're dealing with the hard seasons. It takes a village. If you need one, reach out. I'll always send an encouraging word, some semi-solid advice, or just a listening ear to vent. (We all need to vent every now and then!)
But try to slow down. Take it in.
Because one day that newborn will be a Senior in High School like this sweet and gorgeous girl, who is about to turn 18.
They say that children grow in the blink of an eye and you don't/can't see it WHILE you're living it. Until they're out of the early stages and you wish you could go back and soak in those cuddles one last time.
