9am I'm hands on deck as a call came in urgently. A hospice case needs 24-hour care, starting tomorrow morning! My response, 'I'm on it!' My head steadied, thank God. I immediately started calling available and ready CNAs. I had it fully staffed in one hour. Now, I'm working on the care plan to show the family in person at 6pm. I am so proud of all the ladies who make God's plan work out. Without them, Shar's Helping Hands would fail. They are all so important to me, and I stand by them 100%. Teamwork makes the dream work. As a caregiver/nurse/ Healthcare provider. We are mandated reporters.
Elderly people are sadly being targeted by those posing to be caring caregivers and passing work on to others without proper credentials or legal licensing. Hiring Privately is not agenst the law but when families do so I urge you to keep your eyes on your loved ones and do background checks through the TBI. Never pay upfront or for services not rendered. I'll offer my services free just to keep families safe I can handle interviews to filter out trouble before it even has a chance.

Caregivers, please keep your nails at a safe length. Skin tears and hygiene are something to be aware of. I just staffed a long-term case and the first thing the family asked was for caregivers to not have long nails. I showed her my nails, and she said these were fine, but not the extra. It's a reasonable request.

Families with loved ones need to live their lives too. I'll be receiving calls for temporary live-in caregivers, usually for up to three weeks, as families go on vacation. If you'd like to be considered, I would love to hear from you. A CNA license is preferred.
