We’re pleased to welcome Alex Gittelson as Hill International’s new Country Director for Ukraine. In addition to more than 15 years of government, advisory, and consulting experience spanning the globe, Alex brings a professional and academic background in policy development as well as personal ties to Ukraine. Most recently, he managed more than 250 professionals across Eastern Europe and the CIS region and oversaw the planning and development of over 50 critical infrastructure projects and programs, encompassing road, rail, aviation, logistics, energy, water and wastewater, environment and climate, waste management, and defense works, as well as schools, hospitals, housing, industrial facilities, and other buildings.
In his new role, Alex will lead Hill’s operations and growth in Ukraine and strengthen relationships with clients and partners to support the country’s recovery and resilience.
"Ukraine is at the front lines in innovation and adaptation—from infrastructure for security, society, and technology to navigating uncertainty in natural resources, geopolitics, and climate—and this is where I can already observe that Hill and its GISI network thrive," says Alex. "I look forward to tapping into and expanding this network to help Hill implement a nimble yet humble ‘all-hands-on-deck’ approach with Ukraine and beyond."
“We warmly welcome Alex to our European management team, and his arrival is very timely as we continue to advance Hill’s long-term commitment to Ukraine," adds President, Europe Manolis Sigalas. "His experience and leadership align with the agenda we have pursued in the country in recent years and with our vision for the future: working alongside like-minded clients and partners to effect positive change, develop local talent, deploy technology, strengthen institutional capacity, and support the reintegration of veterans into the country’s workforce. Ukraine’s priorities obviously remain focused on defense and immediate needs as the fight for sovereignty continues. At the same time, the planning and implementation of critical infrastructure and energy projects will be foundational for attracting foreign direct investment and private capital, which are necessary for a viable long-term economic growth plan. At Hill, we remain committed to playing our part in helping achieve these objectives.”
Please join us in welcoming Alex to Hill.
