If you’ve lived in the Lowcountry for any length of time, there’s a good chance you already know Sunrise Bistro for breakfast and lunch — but did you know they roast their own coffee locally, too?! ☕️

🎨 Meet our incredibly talented neighbor, Jane Pelland! Jane Pelland

Jane is a self-taught watercolor artist whose breathtaking work celebrates the tiny, intricate details of the natural world. She’s a member of several prestigious national illustration and botanical art organizations, has had her work featured in galleries and publications, and spent years pouring into young people as a beloved teacher and Writing Coordinator at Ashley Hall School 💛

And somehow, as beautiful as Jane’s art is, her soul may be even more beautiful. 💕

This week, we’re honored to share three cards featuring Jane’s artwork with our community — a little piece of Lowcountry beauty created by a truly remarkable neighbor. 🌿🎨

Sometimes the best stories start at bedtime. 💛

Local author Mary Hamilton began making up stories for her first-responder-obsessed little boys — and those bedtime adventures eventually became the inspiration for her children’s books. 🚒🚓

This Spotlight is especially close to my heart because Mary happens to be my sister… and those little boys are my nephews. 🥹

Swipe to see us many Halloweens ago, when their first-responder obsession was already going strong — one police officer and one firefighter pup. 👮🏽🧑🏽‍🚒🐾❤️ Little did we know it would someday inspire their mom to become a published author!
