DB Central: Michigan's Training & Resource Project is a comprehensive statewide technical assistance project serving families and professionals who are impacted by or associated with a child who is DeafBlind. Training
DB Central offers regional and statewide training in an effort to promote best practices for children and young adults who are DeafBlind. If you would like to be added to our mailing

list to be notified of regional trainings and state-wide conferences please contact DB Central. Training participants may also receive distance and on-site coaching. CEU’s can be arranged upon request. Resource Lending Library
A library of resources is available for parents and professionals. The lending library contains books, other written instructional material, and audio-visual resources. A list of lending library resources is available on our website or via mail by calling our office. Materials will be leaned for a period of four weeks. Michigan DeafBlind Census
The project conducts an annual count of children and youth who are DeafBlind within the state of Michigan. The census is the main instrument used to track the DeafBlind population and is conducted during the first quarter of each calendar year. Technical Assistance
We are available to provide individualized consultation to the local school district, agency and/or family. Our services include evaluation of established goals and objectives with student-specific recommendations to meet the unique needs of students who are DeafBlind. Technical Assistance is provided via phone, email, videophone, and webcams. Onsite consultation visits will be scheduled if necessary. Family Support Services
We are dedicated to the support, education, and empowerment of families. We provide consultation through location, development, and dissemination of information to families regarding identified needs and dreams. The project collaborates with various community agencies such as Community Mental Health, Michigan Commission for the Blind and Michigan Association for Deaf-Blind. Family/Person centered practices are emphasized. Eligibility
Children and young adults age birth through twenty-one who are suspected of having both a hearing AND a vision loss or difficulty in processing auditory and visual information. Young adults ages twenty-two to twenty-six who are DeafBlind will receive referral services to adult service agencies. Students who are DeafBlind and have additional disabilities are also eligible for our services.
