GORDONVILLE, TEXAS—Winnsboro just won THSBA state tournament. There were 185 teams from 110 schools competing on Lake Texoma.
Porter South and Sam Cotton — I understand this is the first time in THSBA history the same person has won state championship twice.
Porter won it all in 2024 with a different teammate.
South and Cotton had a two-day total of 42.18 pounds — five fish each day so 10 overall.
The second place team only weighed 29.60
Their boat captain for stats was Pake South, Porter’s brother, who has been burning up the pro tournaments in the last few months.
Winnsboro had three teams competing. One team didn’t weigh in either day but Trenver Ford and Cason Joslin placed 17th overall.
And their combined total was enough to make Winnsboro the school champion overall as well.
