A quick look ahead for the next two weeks at Lucasacare East's Adult Day Training Center, located in downtown Mount Sterling.
Monday is all about celebrating Space Exploration Day, a holiday dedicated to remembering the Apollo 11 moon landing. Our crew will be learning all about the moon, gravity, rockets, and watching the original Apollo 11 take off and the first steps for mankind on the moon.
Tuesday is our big financial literacy day, whether it be identifying coins and bills, creating and understanding a monthly budget, learning how to make a purchase or exact change, and finally by putting practice into reality at a local business.
Wednesdays are always a day out in the community for us, whether it be getting the ingredients at the local farmer's market for cooking class or spending a fun day out and about in the community.
Thursday is dedicated to letter writing practice. From putting pen (or pencil) to paper, to practicing handwriting, to sending off the letter at the post office, this lesson is entirely about a fun way to communicate with those we may not see as often.
Fridays alternate between the movies and the bowling alley, though occasionally we are able to squeeze in a trip to a museum or a fun seasonal event (The Patch at Rose Farms seems to be the most looked forward to spot, both for the pumpkins and for the above and beyond customer service)
