🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY: Keeping Our Seniors Safe During Extreme Temperatures

With excessive heat warnings being issued for New York with heat index values reaching up to 101 degrees, it's more important than ever to check on our loved ones. Seniors and those with chronic health problems are at increased risk during extreme heat, and older adults are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Here's how we can help keep our seniors safe:
Stay Connected: Contact elderly friends, neighbors, or relatives at least twice a day during a heat wave. A simple check-in call can make all the difference.

Beat the Heat:
✨ Stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible
✨ Drink plenty of water throughout the day
✨ Limit time outdoors and avoid heavy activities
✨ Eat light meals

Warning Signs: Watch for symptoms of heat exhaustion including dizziness, nausea, and excessive fatigue.

Remember, extreme heat is deadly, and New Yorkers' bodies aren't used to long periods of extreme temperatures. Let's look out for each other during these challenging weather conditions.

Four years ago, we had a simple dream: to help families in Westchester county keep their loved ones safe, comfortable, and independent at home. 🏡

Today, we're celebrating not just our 4th anniversary, but the incredible journey we've shared with YOU – our extended family.

Four years of:
✨ Thousands of safe transportation trips
✨ Countless peaceful nights for worried families
✨ Medication reminders that prevented emergencies
✨ Companionship that turned lonely days into joyful ones
✨ Independence preserved with dignity intact

But honestly? The numbers don't tell the real story.
