Substitute Custodial Worker
📍Location: Lavelle Road, Athens, Ohio
💲Wage: Starting hourly rate $17.50; commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Ability to safely operate common custodial equipment and tools.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate appropriate professional conduct.
• Ability to recognize and report safety hazards or facility concerns.
• Ability to work effectively in a setting serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrates the ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment required to perform assigned duties.
Duties:
Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This includes; but is not limited to: Sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, polishing & renewing floor surfaces; cleaning & shampooing rugs & carpets; washing walls; cleaning, dusting & waxing furniture; cleaning glass & mirrors; cleaning & emptying trash receptacles; removing & hanging drapes; removing snow & ice from walkways & drives; reporting need for equipment repair; reporting evidence of fire, illegal entry & theft of property; checking in and orders supplies through the facility director; and stocking supply closets.
• Follows established custodial procedures and safety requirements.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and flexibility.
• Maintains respectful and professional interactions with individuals served, employees, visitors, and community members.
• Protects confidential information encountered while performing assigned duties.
• Promptly communicates concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
• Performs light maintenance as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
