This is a reminder that Thursday, September 3rd is Hazardous Waste Day! You can bring your hazardous waste from 2:00 - 6:00 at our Mt. Vernon Recycle Center on Lower New Harmony Rd. Remember, no latex paint and no alkaline batteries please.

Attn: Mt. Vernon Residents

If you use our curbside pick-up service, please be patient with us, as our curbside truck is down for a major repair on the engine. We will still pick-up on your scheduled day, however, we will be slower than usual since we will be using a box truck and pick-up truck to get it done. It looks like the repair could take 3-4 weeks. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your patience. ♻️🚛

The Posey County Recycle Centers will be closed on Saturday, July 4th so that our Employees can celebrate Independence Day. The Yard Waste Site in Poseyville will be open normal hours on Saturday (8:00 - 4:00). Thank you and have a Blessed and Safe 4th of July!

The Posey County Solid Waste office will be closed Tuesday, May 5th for Election Day. The Mt. Vernon Recycle Center will still be open from 2pm to 6 pm and The Poseyville Recycle Center will still be open from 12 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday.
