🎀 BEHIND THE MAGIC OF THE SIGN FAIRY… A LITTLE ABOUT ME 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about the woman behind The Sign Fairy. 💗

Many of you know me as the person who shows up before sunrise to make your birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and special milestones a little more magical. ✨ But there’s a part of my story that some of you may not know.

In 2014, at just 40 years old, I went for my 1st mammogram. I was healthy, exercised daily, ate well, and had no family history of breast cancer. Cancer was the last thing I expected to hear.

But that mammogram changed my life.

I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. Over the following year, I underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. It was a journey that tested me in ways I never could have imagined, but I was blessed with the love and support of my husband, family, friends, and coworkers who helped me through some of my most difficult days.

💗 Today, I am a 12-year breast cancer survivor. 💗

Twelve years later, I never take that for granted. My experience taught me how precious life is, how important it is to show up for the people we love, and how much the little moments truly matter.

And maybe that’s part of why The Sign Fairy means so much to me.

I’m not just putting signs in yards. I’m helping families celebrate life, create memories, and make people feel special. Every birthday, every milestone, and every surprise is a reminder that these moments are worth celebrating. ✨

I started The Sign Fairy to spread a little magic throughout our community, and I put my heart into every single setup. What you may not see is the woman behind the scenes who knows firsthand just how precious these moments can be.

So, during this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I have one important reminder for all of you:

🎀 PLEASE DON’T PUT OFF YOUR MAMMOGRAM! 🎀

I had no symptoms and no family history. I felt great. I never imagined anything was wrong. My cancer was found because I went for my screening, and I will forever be grateful that I did.

Please take care of yourselves, encourage the women you love to do the same, and never underestimate the importance of early detection.
