Attention Aviators!
Take advantage of this winter weather downtime and get those items fixed that have been on the back burner for way too long.
Eclipse Aviation Services is full service 24 hour maintenance facility equipped to help you launch and navigate your custom aircraft Project, Restoration, Modification and Maintenance needs. At Eclipse Aviation we strive to maintain the highest levels of expertise, safety and workmanship. Having the manpower of Pilots and Technicians that are ready to travel anywhere in the world allows us to tackle your AOG emergencies at a moment’s notice. Our aviation partners, licensed pilots and Airframe / Power plant technicians have many years of experience in aircraft maintenance, flight and Inspection authorization (IA) authority. We specialize in Post/Pre Buy, Annual, 100 hour and all other Inspections, Cleaning and Detailing, Aircraft Ferrying (fixed wing only), Crash/Off Field Aircraft Recovery, Minor/Major Repairs, Propeller Balancing, Alterations, Experimental builder assistance programs, Customized Instrument Panels, Aircraft Interior Replacement, Aircraft Modifications and Loan Default Repossession services (Repossession Services have limitations).
We offer Carburetor and Jet Engine Fuel Nozzle Rebuilding, Ultrasonic Cleaning and flow testing services to keep your aircraft performing at it’s best while saving you money in fuel consumption.
We also offer our customers, new pilots and aircraft owners free familiarization courses on their aircraft to help them maintain a higher level of safety and knowledge of their aircraft.
Our competitors won’t even try to match our hourly maintenance rates at $89 per hour therefore you immediately start saving hundreds of dollars per year on maintenance fees. Off field (MNF) hourly maintenance rates are $105 plus travel which is still cheaper than our competitors normal shop rates.
Restoration and other Project maintenance Rates differ from normal hourly labor rates to make your overall cost a lot less. Visit us online for a list of fixed Annual/100hr Inspection rates. If you don’t see your aircraft listed call or message us for a quote.
Weather permitting, for an extra charge we offer our L.A.P. customers a return flight home after delivering their aircraft for maintenance or inspection services.

Just recently we decided to introduce the Eclipse Aviation Services Loyal Aviators Program (L.A.P.).
We are proud to offer this program to our dedicated customers that no other aircraft maintenance facility in the entire United States has ever offered. We call it the Loyal Aviators Program. This program consists of benefits such as earning free hourly maintenance, flight time for maintenance options and no charge for the emergency call out of maintenance while away from home. Our customers are automatically enrolled in this program after the second annual inspection has been completed on their aircraft.

1: If that customers aircraft has had a forced landing (On or Off Airport) and requires maintenance within a 250 mile radius of Mountain View Municipal Airport (MNF) there is absolutely no charge for the initial call out or the commute to get that aircraft back in the air safely. Hourly and Off field (MNF) maintenance rates apply.

2: On occasions we offer aircraft owners the option to trade the annual inspection costs for flight time by the owner of Eclipse Aviation (not for commercial use) This also allows us to get to know your aircraft in flight as well as mechanically on the ground so if any physical adjustments need to be made to improve flight characteristics we can do so (for free). Needless to say, if a customers aircraft is being utilized it will be meticulously maintained, hangared for free and kept clean as if it were one of ours. This option is only available for customers with aircraft that can haul 4 or more passengers.

3: After the second year annual inspection that customer also receives 2 FREE hours of maintenance per year after every annual inspection. That maintenance can only be used on a single task and expires at the end of that annual inspection visit. Therefore we suggest using that free maintenance during your annual inspection for things such as cosmetic fixes, repairs or component changes that are needed.

As pilots we are trained to make life or death decisions. Safety of flight starts by choosing the right maintenance team and facility that has the knowledge and experience to keep you and your family safely flying to any destination.
Get your aircraft on schedule with Eclipse Aviation, STOP paying ridiculous hourly rates already and become part of the Eclipse Aviation Loyal Aviators Program.
We look forward to satisfying all of your aviation needs.

What an amazing Sunday! I have the best Avpit crew of young aviators helping me turn aircraft here at Eclipse Aviation Services. Any time I call on this devoted crew, they are there to help. Today they worked alongside me to help insure the release of this Piper PA-31T Cheyenne II from an extensive maintenance visit. Of the 3 youngsters from left to right, Cinch Ligget (the newest missouri private pilot), Else Rose (only a few prep flights before she becomes one of Missouri’s newest private pilots) and Hunter Collins (student pilot & the next generation of A&P IA’s for our region. There’s no doubt that this crew alone will take Southern Missouri aviation to a whole other level.
We are seeing astonishing progression among the young AV8R’s in our area. Congratulations to Makenna Mahan 2023 Private Pilot, Riley McRenolds 2023 Private Pilot & Cinch Ligget Private Pilot 2023. Without these kids striving to become leaders and be their very best, there’s no doubt that aviation would die in Southern Missouri. With that said, when you see them in public please praise them for their accomplishments. They are all saving the future of aviation.
I won’t forget to mention two amazing friends that are always head first in supporting this bunch. Ryan & Bridget Liggett, you are golden people ❤️

FINDING A GOOD AIRCRAFT MECHANIC
OR MAINTENANCE FACILITY FOR YOUR AIRCRAFT

Here at Eclipse Aviation Services we are 110% dedicated in earning our clients handshake, smile and look of trust as they arrive and leave from a service visit, but if for some crazy reason we are unable to meet and exceed your service demands, we are more than happy to help you find a more appropriate facility or mechanic that can. We have taken the time on a rainy Wednesday morning to write this post in order to help and further educate our aviation community along the lines of finding a mechanic or facility and what to look for while doing so.
First of all, know the role qualifications of a mechanic and maintenance facility. Try to research various aviation certifications. An aviation mechanic will be FAA certified in either airframe or powerplant, but most will be certified in both, commonly known as an “A&P” or Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
* An A&P who has completed at least 3 years of experience and pursued further certification with the FAA, can be granted an Inspection Authorization (IA) on their A&P certificate. This allows them to perform and approve annual inspections and to sign off major repairs and alterations.
* Click link below to see the basic requirements for becoming a mechanic.

Another credential to look for is professional affiliation. The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) is an organization that promotes ethical and professional practices in the field of aviation maintenance. PAMA and the SAE Institute provide additional certification that validates the core knowledge of FAA certificated A&P mechanics. Completion of this program certifies a mechanic as an Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) such as myself.

CHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS. This means stopping by and checking out the facilities. You should be looking for key details such as the cleanliness of the grounds and work areas. Take notice of the makes, quantity, and quality of the other customers' aircraft. If you fly a Cessna 172, and the only aircraft you see around are large corporate jets, this may not be the most appropriate shop for you.
ASK AROUND. Your fellow pilots/aircraft owners and the owners or managers of local FBO’s or flying clubs have certainly dealt with getting maintenance done and can probably steer you to a reputable shop. Find out how they feel about their mechanics.
TALK TO THE MECHANIC. Ask questions and request to see the old parts when they are removed. When mechanics put a face to the aircraft and know that they may be talking with you again, they are more likely to be more particular about how they perform the repairs.
NOTE: In addition to signing your aircraft’s logbooks, a reputable mechanic should provide you with a work invoice that lists all repairs, parts, and labor charges that were performed on your aircraft.
According to 14 CFR 43.9(a), a proper maintenance logbook should include:
* A description (or reference to data acceptable to the Administrator) of work performed
* The date of completion of the work performed
* The name of the person performing the work if other than the person specified in paragraph (a)(4) of this section.
* If the work performed on the aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part has been performed satisfactorily, the signature, certificate number, and kind of certificate held by the person approving the work. The signature constitutes the approval for return to service only for the work performed.
If the maintenance or work includes a major repair or alteration, the mechanic will be required to complete additional paperwork approving the aircraft for return to service. This includes repairs or modifications that utilize a Supplemental Type Certificate or “STC”.
* The most common practice requires the mechanic to complete a FAA form 337 in duplicate (at least). One copy is provided to the owner, while the other is filed with the FAA.
* Although less common, the mechanic or shop may also use the alternate methods described in Appendix B to 14 CFR part 43.

Helpful Tip: After you find what you believe to be a quality mechanic or maintenance facility, before you dedicate your airplane and livelihood to that person, test out the relationship you will have with him/her. Take your airplane in for just an oil change to see how you will be treated.
Warning: Be wary of up-selling. If it always seems like major problems are being found every time you take your aircraft in for routine maintenance, you may want to get a second opinion from a different mechanic or facility.

Don’t hesitate to call or text us with ANY questions or needs. Again we are ALWAYS here and available for our current and future clients.
