The move is the first investment JPMorgan has made to help the bank access data and prices in the burgeoning market for private securities.

Before the Slack direct listing earlier today, our CEO Nico Sand was quoted by the WSJ: "Private-market trading is becoming increasingly reliable at predicting subsequent public market appetite for venture-backed companies"

Slack Technologies is set to make its trading debut Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange at a valuation of about $15.7 billion, the second major company to go public through a so-called direct listing.
