LSU Health New Orleans-led research presented at highlights the performance of BloodSTOP® iX Trauma Matrix when normal clotting is impaired.

In large-animal models anticoagulated with Plavix or heparin, Trauma Matrix achieved:

· 100% hemostasis
· 100% survival and 0% mortality

By comparison, QuikClot® Combat Gauze achieved 25% hemostasis and experienced 50% mortality.

Across all four severe-bleeding models, Trauma Matrix also reduced blood loss and maintained 100% survival through 16 hours.

The research was selected for both poster and podium presentation at MHSRS 2026. These preclinical findings support further evaluation of Trauma Matrix for severe trauma and combat-related bleeding.

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our valued IT Manager, Dave Ingalz, on July 13, 2026. Dave was a dedicated LifeScience PLUS team member for 19 years, using his technical expertise to support LSP’s hardware and software needs. Working tirelessly behind the scenes, day or night and without fanfare, he kept the company connected and internal operations running smoothly.

BloodSTOP® iX Trauma Matrix has received FDA 510(k) clearance for the external temporary treatment of severely bleeding wounds, including surgical wounds and traumatic injuries.

This clearance expands the use of Trauma Matrix in severe bleeding care across trauma, burn injuries, blast-related injuries, mass casualty response, and surgical settings.

We’re grateful to the team whose work helped make this possible, and we look forward to seeing Trauma Matrix support more clinicians, first responders, and patients across prehospital and hospital wound care.
