Full Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of liquid flow metering systems and general custody transfer and allocation measurement. Familiarity with API & BLM regulations as they pertain to liquid measurement is preferred.
• Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment.
• Witness flow meter proving, detect measurement error, help correct oil volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation.
• Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
• Perform all work in compliance with company standards, HSE and measurement procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate performance toward operational and HSE excellence.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Must be able to drive by company vehicle as needed to several client sites within territory, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work alone in remote areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Basic math and computer skills
• Organized with good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team
• Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, & operating guidelines

Position Requirements
• Depending on location and workload, driving long distances, encountering inclement weather and adverse conditions
• Requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work extended or abnormal hours (evenings, weekend, holiday) when needed
• Make repairs and/or measurements in the field under safety-regulated environments
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, random drug tests
• Able to handle emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications
• 1+ years’ experience in the petroleum industry, or experience in instrumentation, electronics, or measurement applications
• Knowledge of electronic test instruments, flow metering systems, and flow computers
• Knowledge with crude oil custody transfer procedures; sampling, operation, density and temperature obtained via hydrometer, and ticket writing
• Instrumentation background and knowledge of pipeline and terminal equipment
• Computer skills including Microsoft office
• Must be reliable, coachable, positive and professional
Working conditions / Physical demands:
• Work in extreme weather conditions (including cold, rain, and snow)
• Able to frequently, climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc.
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist (occasional).
License:
• Driver's License with clean driving record (Required)
• Commercial Driver's License (Preferred)

Experience:
• Oil and Gas Industry 1 year (Preferred)

Education:
• High school diploma or GED (Required)
• Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience (Preferred)

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
