Listening to the scanner:: I know the burn ban has been lifted, BUT YOU still need to use caution when burning!! It is slightly breezy today and while we got some rain, we did NOT get enough! Please start small fires when burning and have a water source handy in case it gets out. Remember we are a volunteer fire dept. It takes us time to leave whatever we are doing, get to the station, get trucks and gear to get to your emergency.

Getting ready for the VFW Post 8855 Mountainburg Fish Fry. All you can eat Fish, coleslaw, potato salad, hushpuppies and desserts!!! Come on out and support your local veterans and get some good food!! 10$ a plate--we also have carry out! Starts at 2 pm at Mountainburg City Hall

Well, it finally happened!! We had enough rain to release us from the burn ban!!!! I will ask that you call 479 474 8000 and inform dispatch that you will be having a controlled burn (this means you will be on hand to watch the fire you started). I will also suggest that you have a water source handy, just in case. Safety first!!

For those asking: Dumpster days is when Crawford County has Dumpsters hauled out to certain areas in the Crawford County where you can haul your junk and throw it away. However, there are restrictions. I will post a picture below. You will need to call your town area and see where your Dumpsters are located. I know that one will be out at Locke this Saturday. Mountainburgs will be next Sat on the 10th. These get filled up Fast!! Starts at 7 am in the morning. If you do happen to know where other Dumpsters are located, please post in comments.

Alrighty!! If you read my previous post about Dumpster Day for here in Mountainburg at Basham's on Hwy 71 being on Oct 3rd, it has been changed to October 10th! Still starts at 7am until Dumpster is full.
