URGENT UPDATE ON TODAY’S WEATHER SITUATION… PLEASE SHARE!

Over the past few days, I’ve been communicating that it looks like the main severe weather risk would be off to our northwest today and into tonight. I still believe this to be true, but there has been a LATE DEVELOPMENT.

In the last few runs of the HRRR, our most trusted weather model, it has a few scattered supercell thunderstorms forming across Middle Tennessee this afternoon / evening. - This late development is particularly concerning because I’ve been messaging basically the complete opposite AND all hazards, including a heightened tornado risk, is possible with these storms. TIMING IS BETWEEN 3 and 7 PM.

Not everyone will see storms this afternoon and evening. These cells will be very isolated, and there is even a chance the storms don’t form at all. But when the HRRR shows supercell formation, I pay attention. Just BE AWARE that isolated supercell thunderstorms are POSSIBLE this Evening! — This is in no way a guarantee you’re going to get storms.

I’m sorry for not pushing this update out quicker, but I was in a test earlier this morning (coincidentally about supercell thunderstorms).

We are inching closer to the arrival of a significant storm system that has the potential to bring multiple rounds of severe weather to the area both Friday night and Saturday. It's looking increasingly likely that our first round of potentially severe storms will occur late Friday night into Saturday morning.
