Welcome! It is nice to meet you. I’m Heather Clayton Maisano, founder of TSP Strategic Consultants, where clarity becomes leverage.

This may sound ironic since you’re reading it online, but this isn’t an ad. It’s an observation.

First, thank you for being here - if you are new here, I am Heather in Middle TN for the last 7 years and from CAs’ Central Coast.

What do I do? in my most simple form I am a business management consultant. I grow your bottom line. Welcome!

I spent nearly a year trying to make online “networking” work as a referral source and writing engaging stories. For me, online networking wasn’t a referral source at all. It was mostly pitches, noise, cussing 🤬 that drained my bandwidth all without building too many “real” relationships.

What I learned is simple … I was being redirected. Now, I can teach about it but after 25+ years of success in sky rocketing bottom lines and presidents club moments, I don’t struggle with my work. I struggle, when I’m visible in the wrong places.

It is not online networking. What I do is nuanced and project based. It works best in proximity. Real conversation. Trust. Humans across a table, not in a DM.

So starting January 12, 2026, I’m shifting fully back to in-person, local networking. To stay intentional, Mondays and Fridays are my networking mornings.

How I work:
• Short-term, focused projects to start
• Small time and cost investment
• Clear, lucrative outcomes
• Repeat work grows naturally with trust

I function as a business and personal manager for a season, then a long-term strategic partner. I help people think clearly, price confidently, and stop leaving money on the table.

“ “cold comfort sis, but YOU HAVE ARRIVED! With increased visibility almost always brings increased noise - some not joyful. It’s not a reflection of your work or your worth, but a byproduct of being seen.

Online platforms reward engagement, even when it’s unhelpful. If people truly wanted you to disappear, they wouldn’t engage at all. Showing up on camera, creating thoughtful content, and continuing despite the noise takes real resilience and strong boundaries.

💛 A Quick Note From My Heart (and My Bandwidth)

Online networking has been a beautiful whirlwind, and I have met some truly INCREDIBLE women and I am honored for the care I have received - it is an honor!

The e-time invested versus referrals received is not aligning though and its not personal, but coffee chats feel like sales pitches with a ton of CUSSING and comraderie BUT not conversations about how we can refer and support one another.

I am noticing my bandwidth gone but nothing monetary coming back in, which is not sustainable for my business. Remember the e-person in a referral group should be referral forward, not sales before they know my needs. Protect your bandwidth. Stay intentional.

As I attend local Chamber events, and next week, a smaller networking group next week, I can see myself light up learning about my local community! They need me, and I need them, is the feeling I get.

To every woman I’ve met here:
You matter, and I’m grateful for you.

As I refuel and rebalance between (paid) online referral partners and local networking to benefit my town, I want to e-thank you for the LOVE for me you have shown to me and for grace.

The Autumn Chronicles keep on giving📚. You never know where a simple coffee chat will go!

Why?:
Yesterday completed my first month of online networking. Its a grind for me and I was already completely EXHAUSTED the appointment before my last appointment. My goodness I was not at my best.

And so by my last appointment, I pulled it together thank God because I accidentally, and may I add divinely spent an hour and a half back at my best and with someone who is, quietly famous.

I did not know that when we started talking just intirely who she was, or I would have wondered how we could network properly - because, my goal here online, is to find 12 referral partners and to empower women along the way.

AND, I could not imagine how I could possibly help her. And wouldn’t you know, in the end, she told me she is referring a referral partner to me, someone whose clients need The Storyteller Projects. Everyone needs a storyteller biz dev, but for me, I need people who get me - and she got me, and advocated me!

She asked why I do this work and I shared how pattern recognition helps me mirror a person’s story back to them in a way that reveals their worth and often transforms their business. Then I told her about Autumn and what that six-year-old taught me about boldness and authenticity.

That opened the Narnia style door, to the world I envision now today.

She shared her experience working in professional sports. She talked about the very real challenges women face when they are expected to shrink or soften their brilliance to be accepted.

She said the world is starving for women who speak with their full minds and full presence
and teach the world to not objectify us.

She THEN told me, “Talk publicly, the way you are talking right now. The world needs that voice.” And, that I needed to start an Autumn Chronicles Podcast.

This was the second time in 4 hours that I was told this by the way, and that I was needing to be a consultant for corporations and could pull $5-15K for just one hour, for what I was talking about with them alone.

And she said she wanted me to start contacting podcasters to be a guest and get a handle on what behind the scenes looked like. Learn the ropes. What the wha?

By the time I got off the phone though, I was transformed! And, I have been thinking about that ever since.

Tangentially, tomorrow is my first FB Live in 4 years. So, it’s happening - what they are saying is serendipitously tracking!

Tomorrows’ Live is none other than Christina Lawrence, a powerhouse Bio Writer Storyteller who, writes so beautifully it breaks my heart!

Mid month is Lilian Sue also a fellow storyteller, powerhouse author, podcast coach and public speaking coach +++, who made me wish I had that life so THAT I needed her!

These ladies are not my competition, they’re my peers. You see how these coffee chats are important?

Look - I was looking for referral partners. People to get my vision and share my info with the companies that need me. So, if my life indeed goes in this new direction, I would be honored!

Back to Autumn - she knew how to ask for what she wanted. TWICE. AND from a total stranger. Many of us powerhouses lose that boldness along the way of life. We start hesitating. We start performing.

We start shaping ourselves to fit into small spaces. Nip this, tuck that, pounds of make up and tight skirts this. Thats not power. And it is not because we are weak, but because we were trained to make ourselves easier for others who do not HAVE to do this, to hold in high regard.

Here is what she and I both know to be true:

When women show up as themselves fully and clearly and without apology, the room changes.
Not because they demand respect, but because they embody it.

We are allowed to grow.
We are allowed to influence.
We are allowed to use our real voices.
We are allowed to take up the space that is already ours.

My heart breaks 💔 when I meet women with incredible stories who are not sharing them well. It is not their fault. It’s impossible to do for onesself and, also some of us were raised to be agreeable, quiet, and small.

The only “confidence coaching” many of us got was suck in your stomach, tweeze your eyebrows, and paint your nails. 💅 Our mothers were taught even less. No wonder so many women still struggle to know their worth.

Let’s fix that.
It is not bragging if it is true.
And having someone else tell your story helps you finally own it.

You know you have been “STORYTELLERED” when a free coffee chat turns lucrative from out of nowhere.

Today reminded me why these free consult conversations matter so much. I went in planning to help her raise her fees, but what she really needed was clarity on her sales cycle and how to reopen it with existing clients. So we shifted. We followed the real need.
