For over 30 years, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) network has been providing free, or low cost, educational opportunities for individuals thinking about starting a business and consulting services for existing small businesses. Our office serves Bedford County, TN; Canon County, TN; Coffee County, TN; Giles County, TN; Hickman County, TN; Lawrence County, TN; Lewis County,

TN; Lincoln County, TN; Marshall County, TN; Maury County, TN; Moore County, TN; Perry County, TN; Rutherford County, TN; & Wayne County, TN. TN TSBDC Office provides small business start-up services including, but not limited to: business plan development, financial planning assistance, marketing plan development, sources of capital, & social media guidance. In addition to start-up assistance, TN TSBDC Office provides existing business assistance including, but not limited to: business growth planning, government contracting guidance, international trade guidance, sources of capital, & social media strategy guidance. We provide workshops on a variety of business topics. Our services are free and unlimited. Counselors cannot provide legal or tax advice.

On Friday, August 21, our TSBDC team came together for a potluck to celebrate Savannah’s last day with a taco and nacho bar, followed by cheesecake and cookies for dessert!

Our interns go on to do incredible things, and we love seeing where their journeys take them.

In this Past Intern Spotlight, we’re catching up with Itcell Martinez, a former TSBDC cybersecurity intern who is continuing her education and working to build her cybersecurity career.

Itcell shared how her time at TSBDC gave her valuable real-world experience, from sitting in on meetings and networking to seeing firsthand the challenges business owners face. She also highlighted the TSBDC team as mentors who made her experience supportive, hands-on, and meaningful.

Her advice to future interns? Stay flexible, stay open-minded, and be willing to jump into new experiences.

We’re so proud of our Social Media Manager and former Intern, Savanah, as she takes on her next chapter as a Graduate Assistant at MTSU, as she gets her Master's in Digital Media! She has been such a valued part of the TSBDC team, and while we’ll miss having her around, we’re excited to see all she accomplishes in this next step.
