Great news for independent restaurant owners! This Restaurant Revitalization Grant update just in:

Today, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that they are eliminating the System for Award Management (SAM) registration process for independent restaurants and bars applying for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). Our efforts to encourage the government to streamline the application process paid off, and we’re grateful to the SBA for listening and taking action.
What does this mean for the independent restaurant and bar community? Operators who seek to participate in the RRF do not need to acquire a DUNS number or register for a SAM.gov account. If you’ve already started or finished the process, your progress will not have an impact on funds awarded once the program is live. Please note that this change is a good one: removing the requirement eliminates a major barrier, helping create a level field that gives the smallest businesses a better shot at getting relief.

Hello, OnCue alumni and friends! If you plan to apply for the restaurant grants that will be live soon, it's a good idea to get your DUNS and SAM numbers all set up. We had a DUNS number, but needed to make sure all of our information was correct and matched our tax return. Took a few days for that to update. We submitted info for our SAM number on 3/16 and it was just approved/assigned. Here are some more details that might be helpful to you.

We here at 17th Street are mourning the loss of Margaret Wiggins of Ole Hickory Pits. Margaret was our salesperson for years, and such a great friend to all of us. If you came to any of our classes at Ole Hickory Pits, you met Margaret and were witness to her big personality and zest for life. She was incredibly knowledgable about barbecue, pits, and codes, and she helped hundreds of people succeed in the barbecue business. We will miss her terribly.
