Raptor Agriculture Products??

Raptor Agriculture?? Humm, doesn’t sound right but it sure is!! Raptor SLC has designed and is manufacturing over (450) “V-Plows” for agricultural companies for the spring! These V-plow wear parts are bolted onto pull plow rippers to AG tractors to cultivate fields in preparation for planting the summer crops! These were redesigned using a much stronger and longer lasting steel based upon feedback and a bit of frustration from farmers who were not getting the life they expected out of each of the blades. We’re very happy we were asked to help create a much higher quality USA manufactured product compared to the “standard” sub-par product from over-seas and bringing higher expectations back to our farmers! Tables, tables everywhere but no food to eat on them!! We had a great customer ask us to help with assembling some steel shop tables for him. They turned out super sturdy and are ready to go to work!
Our shop has the ability to work on and create all sorts of cool projects not only for the construction and mining industries but many other areas that customers need help with. If you have a steel project that needs to be worked on or repaired please give us a try!

Snow, snow…where are you?!?! Looks like one of our customers was getting ready but we can’t seem to get the snow to fall!
Our customer asked us to help him repair a snow box that was pretty beat up. The front wings were bent, the skid shoes were worn out, the rear bucket hitch was rotted out, the frog plate was rusted through and the rubber cutting edge needed to be flipped. Overall the repair turned out nice and he’s ready to go when…if…the snow ever falls!! Thanks for asking us to help with this SNOW BOX!!

Excited to be back to in-shop bucket liners and repairs!! This loader bucket was in need of a bit of protection so we GSD. You can see a few before and after photos as it progressed along. Floor, radius face & inside cheek liner was installed and the bottom of the bucket needed a few extra wear plates to stabilize the wear in that area too. These plus a few extra crack repairs on the coupler linkage and “BAM!!!” it’s back in the dirt! Jon did a really nice job start to finish and is one of our best shop welders who has completed countless installs for us over the years. This bucket is being delivered shortly and our customer is extremely happy with how things turned out! -- Always keep us in mind if you need any help regarding bucket repairs, wear parts or even safety solutions!!

Bucket base edges are both critical and an integral part of all buckets and can be a bit complicated to ensure they fit the adaptors properly as well as to tie into the structure properties of the bucket. In addition, not all excavator buckets have straight base edges! Many large excavators, especially those that are in the mining industry, have a “spade nose” base edge which helps pe*****te the earth a bit better than a typical straight profile. The one you see below is for a CAT® 395 excavator which was required to be manufactured for one of our very good customers! As you can see it takes A LOT of heat to prepare for the bevel cut. Jon and our team did an excellent job of prepping and beveling to the proper angles to ensure a perfect fitment process! Excavating applications often call for a bit more than just moving dirt from one place to another. Sometimes they require separation of the material or allowing water to drain away from what the contractor wants to keep!
One of our customers had such an application and asked us to CONVERT a standard “shell” excavator bucket into what can be called a “sifting”, “straining” or “skeletal” bucket. This process can be a bit complicated if you are not aware of how to design it properly. It requires the floor/heel of the bucket to be completely removed and replaced with a very strong skeletal type frame. That frame must retain the proper distance between the slats to allow the “not wanted” size of dirt and rock to pass through. If not engineered correctly the bucket can collapse or fold into itself!

We’re pretty happy with how this bucket turned out! It saved the customer money from having to buy a new custom bucket, offered them a solution to separate out the proper sized material needed and provided a strong sifting bucket that will last them a very long time! Ripper shanks in general take a beating, but even more so is the nose base that carries the ripper tip! Over time the ripper nose either gets worn down or even breaks off under pressure!
Many manufactures offer a replacement piece called an “Adaptor Base” or an “Adaptor Nose Base”. There is a specific procedure to follow to ensure that part is removed and replaced properly. Without following that procedure correctly it may cause an early failure and further damage the shank itself. We were lucky enough to be asked by a customer to help with a ripper nose repair and the end result was great!

We are extremely happy to announce Raptor SLC has been approved to offer MSHA, First Aid and CPR training to all customers who are interested!
Ruben Ramirez (based in Raptor SLC, UT) has worked hard at setting up Raptor for him to teach these classes to support our efforts to fulfill safety requirements for our mining and construction customers. Keep in mind that these classes are NOT just limited to those industries and can be offered to ANY company that is needing weekly, monthly or yearly training. We hope you are as excited as we are and will ask us to help you with your next safety training class!

At Raptor we offer all sorts of ARM (tungsten carbide overlay) on multiple types of ground engaging tools and crushing wear parts! It’s a GREAT way to help your parts last MUCH longer than how they come from the factory.
