Update: SOLD!!! Thank you for keeping them from going to auction!

And then there were two...

Ok folks, we're in the final days of our huge Buckling Clearance Event!!!

Brothers Stormy and Night (birthed during a thunderstorm) are the only ones yet to find their forever farms. Both are very affectionate in their own way. Night (black) is the more in your face "I'm gonna make you love me" type while Stormy (brown, obviously) is a little more reserved but then can't get enough attention once he warms up to you.

You can see their beautiful markings if you choose to breed them in the future. You can also see their sister Rain in the background at the 1:10 mark on the full screen video. That may be a another color combination they could possibly throw.

The livestock auction is Saturday, so this event ends friday, Friday, FRIDAY!!!

Everything must go!!
No reasonable offer refused!!
Nothing held back!!
(and any other cheesy sales line you can think of)

If you (or anyone you know) has ever thought about getting goats, now is your chance. We have some bucks that need to go. We've never had to take any goats to the sale, but these guys may have to go if we can't find their forever farms quickly. Let's Make a Deal!!

(Look at the previous post for more pictures. Thankyou!!)

David (white with horns) is pending. Thank you!!

For your consideration. Bucklings are blue and doelings are pink. This is our last full breeding season, so availability after this year may be limited. Please DM for more info. Thanks

Herbivores for 100 please, Alex

It's a good thing we don't raise piranhas

And yes, muck boots with basketball shorts is a fashion craze sweeping the nation. Start wearing them now before it becomes cool and everyone starts doing it (because that will probably never happen)

Cliff Jumpers

Here's 3 minutes of goatlets being goatlets.

Helicopter mom Speckles is there making sure her boy Petey doesn't get ruffed up by the sister trio of Maxie, Middie and Mini (who is spending most of her time trying to get some extra nourishment on the side so she can keep pace with her sisters)

New Kids on the Block

These NKOTB fan (not really) baby goatlets are taking it "Step By Step" to prove that they have "The Right Stuff" to be king of the cinder block. They're "Hanging Tough" as others try to knock them off as goatlets usually do.

That's all the puns for now. Check back later

Udder Up!

It's almost 2 am and Sadie's has more hungry mouths to feed than a Waffle House. We're considering Scattered, Splattered, Shattered, Smothered and Covered (or whatever their slogan is....it's late, or actually early) as possible names .
Anyway, we're happy to report that mama and her three beautiful doelings are doing well. They're just a little tired after their repetitive early morning trips to the Dairy Queen (aka mama's udder)

One of these is not like the others

This morning the girls gave us Christmas presents the best way they knew how. Dottie laid one of her famous double yolkers and Blackie must have been const-egg-pated since she pooped out 5 brown eggs. Red lays occasionally when the mood strikes and Gray hasn't quite gotten the giving spirit yet. Goldie is confused right now thinking she is laying on chicks, but she isn't.

FawnDoe gave us our present a couple weeks ago when she hatched a surprise baby goatlet. A buck got loose this summer and apparently made the most of his 15 minutes of freedom. She usually hatches at least 4 so we didn't even notice she was prego. Baaaad goat parents. (Boooo, hiss)

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy upcoming New Year!!!

So, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good....egg salad sammich. Actually we prefer eggs in the basket with Marsha's homemade sourdough bread. It'll jingle your bells

It might be a red flag when you have to make room in your deep freezer for goat feed because you've bought too much and have run out of mouse proof storage down at the shack.

Also, contact Marsha if you need any bread. As you can see we have a "veritable cornucopia" of it. (I didn't realize how much she had until I had to move it all)

It is with deeply heavy hearts that we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to one of our herd. We try not to have favorites, but sometimes you just can't help it. That's why this is so tough.

Sugar was our special needs little girl. She was born with a malformed jaw, probably from having to share Speckles' tiny womb with her huge sister, Sparkles (aka Butterball). Too many hoofs to the mouth eventually took their toll.

We knew something was amiss yesterday when Sugar wasn't leading the charge into the goat shack for dinner time. We found her out in the pasture. We're not sure what happened, but believe it may have been bloat even though she seemed fine that morning.

We will always remember her for her tenacity. With her misaligned jaw, she couldn't nurse or bottle feed very well. She started eating grain and hay at a very young age even tho her stomach wasn't suited for it. She looked terrible but continued to fight. Nobody was gonna keep her from eating her Sugie Snacks. However, after a few months her body matured and she began to flourish.

Since most of every bite she took would fall out of her mouth, she took a loooong time to eat. We put her bowl on top of the freezer so she could stay in as long as she needed and then jump out whenever she finished. Often she would let us know that she thought we didn't give her enough to eat. Sugar pretty much got whatever she wanted.

Some say she had a face only a mother could love. Not true. Everybody loved Sugar; she was a farm favorite. Of course her mother did love her as well. So did her sissy. Butterball and Butterface were inseparable. Speckles and Sparkles would often make a Sugar sandwich when they slept. They miss her already.

We love you and will miss you dearly. RIP sweet Sugie. Feeding time won't be the same without you

(Since we can't post videos and photos at the same time, we'll put her baby video down in the comments)
