Ray Dortenzo Designs Interiors designed by Ray Dortenzo are well known for their elegant and refined sophistication with a special emphasis on comfort and livability.

A room must be comfortable both in appearance and use to be fully enjoyed on a daily basis. My interiors are not meant to be props or sets but rather to be an integral part of the client’s every day life; rooms that were meant to be used, enjoyed, loved and savored. In short, rooms designed to turn your house into your home. They are customized to express who you are and to project that vision to

visitors. My interest in design, whether interior or landscape, has been a long and cherished one. After college and graduate school, where I earned a dual Master’s in Business Administration, I decided to follow the tugging at my heart and begin my design career. I began by designing and building custom homes and several have appeared in major publications. This led me to land development and eventually to the profession I love most above all, to interior design. Having a
solid grounding in business and construction has helped me immeasurably in interior design. I am better able to understand what each team member does and this helps to integrate the entire process. I am very comfortable with all types of interiors-from traditional, to transitional to contemporary to modern and I love to create a mix of these styles in my designs. After almost thirty years in the business, I continue to grow and learn. It is this process that fuels my interiors.

A quick glance through our dos and don'ts of decorating, in which interior designers offer their principles for good decorating, reveals a few common threads that it seems everyone can agree on. A strong distaste for too much overhead lighting, for one, and an equally firm veto on blindly following trends.
