Plastic injection molding serves a wide range of industries that require high-volume, quality plastic parts, but the actual production process isn't always well understood.

Before a single part is made, there's thorough work behind the scenes: designing for end-use, selecting the right materials, factoring in tight tolerances, and building quality molds. Once all of that is finalized, this is how the process actually runs:

Step 1: Clamping
The two mold halves are pressed firmly together before any plastic is injected.

Step 2: Injection
Molten resin is injected into the mold cavity under controlled pressure, monitored closely by a trained team throughout.

Step 3: Cooling
The mold halves are held in place while the plastic cools and takes the shape of the cavity.

Step 4: Ejection
Once fully cooled and solidified, the finished part is released from the mold.

This results in a part that consistently meets the tolerances and specs that were determined before the production process began, and it’s repeated at volume and to standard, every time.
