Pocono Model Trains Purpose of this page is posting of Videos and Pictures of Model Railroads at Model Train Shows and private layouts.

I also post updates of progress on my own layout. It has been under construction since the fall of 2018 and changed a number of times.

There is not often I post on the page something that is not train related but I had to share this with my followers. If you are in the Myrtle Beach SC area you should make sure to visit Brookgreen Gardens in Georgetown county. They have recently opened a new Atrium and there’s a large diorama in the center that is a replica of the 9000 acres that is the gardens. Here’s a video of the diorama.

I worked today for a couple hours on scenery. I now have a dirt road in place and rock along the bottom of the wall and I used a grass mat and cut pieces to fit that will surround the back of the town. The grass mat is from Heki products sold by Scenic Express. The rock also from Scenic Express. The dirt for the road is from Mine Mountain Models. Check out their website, they are a husband and wife operation. Still a lot to do so stay tuned.

The few days have made a big difference on this part of the layout. I have the base color on. Then did some ground cover and poured the plaster to form the roadbed. Today I painted the base color on the road which will be dirt when done. I also cut and installed the premade rock wall. Got a lot done.

Time to get back to work on more scenery. This is where 3 of my Howard Zane / Al Pugliese houses will be placed. Lots of Red Rosen paper and Plaster cloth. Next comes paint and then the really fun part, Ground cover.

Being a born and raised Jersey boy I spent a lot of time at the Jersey Shore. Especially the Cape May area. So when I saw that RMT was producing Woodsided Re**ers with the Cape May theme I got all 3 plus the Pride of Newark Re**er. These are nicely detailed scale cars and the price 39.99. You can’t beat the price.
