It may not be on my menu, but this great blue heron must have known it was National Catfish Day. Snapped these pics just after he made his catch in our retention pond and proudly sauntered by our pool…

Although I had often described my spiritual walk as a jagged journey, I smiled with unshakable confidence when I saw post asserting that “It’s YHWH or the Highway.”

It wasn’t until I embarked on reading the Holy Bible in its entirety this past year that my wayward spiritual life truly transformed. Journeying deep into the Word of God has been nothing short of AMAZING. I’m thankful that His pursuit of me has been greater than all my rebellious wanderings. The character of God and His promises for me have found a permanent home in my heart. To try and grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ seems impossible to comprehend. His love simply surpasses all knowledge and understanding. ✝️ Says R.C. Sproul “You don’t have to give up your intellect to read the Bible. You (just) have to give up your pride.” I’m so glad I swallowed mine.

I’m dedicating this post to a spiritual giant who was my first true shepherd, the belated Roger Barrier. The seeds he sowed did not scatter, after all. And to a handful of others who continue to this day to guide my walk through their teachings, books, devotionals and example. I am so grateful. 🙏🏻

4 things I want to confide on this Memorial Day—Thank you to all the servicemen and women and their families who’ve given the ultimate sacrifice so I could be free; I’m so grateful. I’m also sorry—especially for the times when I’ve taken your sacrifice for granted—barely giving a nod on the “holiday” weekend we set aside to memorialize you. Forgive me. Lastly, I love you for your living and your dying of this truth—that “there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend.” May God bless America, again. 🇺🇸John 15:13

My earthly father was quite the Renaissance man—successful in every profession and hobby he endeavored. A doctor, architect, artist, musician, author—the list goes on and on. And my siblings and I lived in awe of him. He loved God and painted mostly the beauty and majesty of God’s creation. The last canvas he painted more than 40 years ago was a modern day “Last Supper.” I’m so thankful for my earthly dad who’s been with the Lord for over four years now. And I give all praise and glory to the one true God who gave it All—Jesus!

Saying so long to the container that held so many memories for Scott and me. It was “our (first) house in the middle of the street” 🎶; it was “a very, very, very fine house with two pups in the yard.” 🎶 It was a place where we lounged on the sofa, bingeing on Netflix during the pandemic lockdown; where Scott expertly prepared in our kitchen many feasts for his kids and me; and where I launched my consultancy biz from home, giving countless webinar presentations. I gardened, too—an activity that allowed me to decompress from life’s stressors. Now we are heading to a new container—where we are eager to create memories in a brand new space, to envision a new future, and to dare to do something new. Here’s to the next chapter of the rest of our lives.

I recall Rolling Stone recently posing the question of “when concerts —as we knew them— will come back?” If Carolina Country Music Fest is any indicator, live entertainment in outdoor music venues is in full swing. The crowd’s excitement felt similar. What felt different was the emotion and adrenaline coming from the performers who were taking the stage after 15-month lockdown—especially from Luke Combs and Michael Ray. They were genuinely affected. Hopefully our mourning and our longing are over. The show must go on —together! 🎇
