Most small business owners are still running the same Zapier setup they built two years ago.

That's not a knock on Zapier. It's a great tool. But in 2026, it's the starting point, not the destination.

There's a full landscape now: workflow platforms, personal AI agents, developer-grade agents, and tools for managing them all. Knowing which one fits your situation (and which ones to skip) is the difference between an automation stack that saves you 10 hours a week and one that costs you money and sits idle.

New on the blog: a complete, honest breakdown of every automation tool that matters right now, including Make .com, N8N, Pabbly Connect, Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, and Paperclip.

Everyone's worried about AI taking jobs in tech.

But a new MIT study just revealed something most people are completely missing.

Is the disruption only hitting tech workers? That's only 2.2% of the US labor market.

The hidden exposure across administrative work, finance, HR, and professional services? 11.7%. Five times larger. And it's spread across every state, not just Silicon Valley.

The people most at risk aren't who you'd expect. They're educated, well-paid, and did everything right.

I broke down what this means for small business owners, and what you can actually do about it now.

👉

MIT just mapped where AI capabilities and human work actually overlap, and the results should change how every small business owner thinks about their next move.

What if your notes organized themselves?

Andrej Karpathy, co-founder of OpenAI and former Tesla AI lead, recently shared how he uses AI to build a personal knowledge base that gets smarter with each use.

We translated it into plain English for small business owners. No coding. No technical background needed.

👉

Stop losing your best ideas. Here's how to build a business knowledge base that organizes itself — using AI and three simple folders.

AI is making people more productive.

So why does everyone feel MORE overwhelmed? 🤔

Researchers at UC Berkeley studied how tech workers are actually experiencing AI on the job. The results were surprising — and a little uncomfortable.

It reminded me of something that happened to all of us with smartphones. What started as a superpower quietly became a trap.

I think it's about to happen again with AI. And I wrote about it.

AI promised to save us time. So why does everyone feel busier than ever? The same trap that stole your evenings after the smartphone is quietly setting up again — and this time, you can see it coming.

Let me be honest with you about something most AI "gurus" won't say:

AI makes things up. Confidently. Convincingly. And sometimes completely wrong.

It's called a hallucination — and if you post AI-written content without checking it, your credibility is on the line.

Here's the 4-question check I recommend every time before you publish anything AI helped write:

1. Ask AI to doubt itself.
Paste the output back and say: "What in this might be inaccurate or outdated?" — You'll be surprised how often it flags its own mistakes.

2. Flag every number, date, and statistic.
These are the most common hallucinations. If AI says "73% of small businesses..." — go find that stat. It may not exist.

3. Don't trust confident-sounding claims.
AI doesn't have a tone of uncertainty. It sounds sure, even when it's guessing. The more authoritative it sounds, the more you should verify.

4. Ask for sources — then actually check them.
AI sometimes fabricates citations that look completely real. Google the source before you quote it.

The winning formula isn't "let AI do everything." It's: AI drafts. You verify.

That's how you get the speed of AI without the risk.

You know that feeling where you have something important to do... and you just can't start?

That's not laziness. That's your brain overwhelmed by an unclear task.

Here's a 5-minute AI trick that works every time:

Step 1: Type this — "I need to [your task], but I don't know where to start. Break it into the first 3 steps only."
Not 10 steps. Not a full plan. Just 3. That's it.

Step 2 (if you're still frozen): "What's the single smallest action I could take in the next 10 minutes?"
AI will shrink the task until it's undeniable.

Step 3 (if you're overthinking): "What would a business owner do if they only had 30 minutes to solve this?"
That constraint cuts through perfectionism like nothing else.

The goal isn't a perfect plan. It's momentum.
And once you start moving, you almost always keep going.

♻️ Save this for the next time you're spinning your wheels.

💬 What's the task you've been putting off this week? Drop it in the comments — let's unstick it together.

Most people use AI to write emails and make lists.

Here's something almost nobody talks about — using AI to prepare for a hard conversation.

Before a difficult client call, a tough negotiation, or a conversation you've been putting off — try this:

1. Tell AI: "Act as the person I'm about to speak with" — describe who they are and what the tension is.

2. Ask: "What objections would they likely raise?"

3. Actually respond to each one. Out loud or in the chat. Tighten your words before the real moment.

4. Finish with: "What would make this conversation go wrong?"
You'll walk in more prepared than you've ever been — and usually way more calm.

It takes about 10 minutes. And it works.

♻️ Save this for your next tough conversation.

💬 What kind of conversation do you dread most as a business owner? Drop it below — I might do a walkthrough.

Plot twist: asking AI "should I raise my prices?" and then doing whatever it says is not a business strategy. 😅

The good news? Learning to actually use AI for your business isn't hard — it just takes the right guidance and a community that gets it.
