👑💗 Ms. NC Queen of Hope Kaitlynn Hucks stopped by to visit just a few of her hometown heroes tonight! 🫶🏼

Dropped off a basket full of goodies to help keep them going and get them through their shift tonight. 🧺✨

“So thankful for the men and women who show up, serve, protect, and care for our community. It was a small way to say thank you for all that you do!” 🇺🇸💙

Nakina Fire and Rescue appreciates you Ms. Hucks!

🚨 INCIDENT ALERT | MEDICAL RESPONSE

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., Nakina Fire & Rescue and Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21 responded to Reaves Ferry Road for a medical emergency.

Nakina EMS 29 and QRV 21 arrived on scene, and due to the patient’s condition, air medical transport was requested. Nakina Fire personnel were dispatched to establish a landing zone at one of our predesignated locations near the intersection of Ramsey Ford Road and NC 905. We are extremely grateful to the community member who continues to allow us the use of their property for this important purpose (Jacobs Family).

Due to Valley Air’s estimated arrival time, the decision was made to transport the patient to the helipad at Columbus Regional Healthcare System to rendezvous with the aircraft.

We would like to thank Columbus County 911 Communications, the Whiteville Police Department for helping ensure quick and safe passage through Whiteville, and Cape Fear Valley Air for their assistance with patient transport.

Incidents like this demonstrate the importance of communication, preparation, and strong partnerships among emergency services. We appreciate everyone who played a role in tonight’s response.

On November 3rd, I, Chief Victor Jacobs, strongly encourage you to vote YES and invest in a stronger, safer Columbus County.

I strongly support the ¼-cent local sales and use tax for Columbus County. This is not a property tax or an income tax—it is an additional 0.25% sales tax on purchases that are subject to the applicable local sales tax, meaning it is paid by people making taxable purchases connected to Columbus County, including residents and visitors. For perspective, it amounts to just 25 cents on a $100 taxable purchase. That small contribution, spread across the people who spend money in our county, can make a tremendous difference by strengthening emergency services, schools and education, and parks and recreation. This is an investment in public safety, our children, our communities, and the future of Columbus County.

🚨 INCIDENT ALERT | NAKINA FIRE & RESCUE 🚨

Yesterday got a little busy all at once for Nakina Fire & Rescue as three calls were dispatched at approximately the same time frame, including an MVC involving a rollover with possible entrapment.

📍 MVC Location:
16739 Seven Creeks Hwy, Tabor City
Between Big Ave. and River Rd.

With Nakina EMS 29 already assigned to a medical call, Tabor City Medic 25 was requested to respond to the MVC.

Nakina Fire Truck 10 and Engine 29 responded to the scene along with Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21.

Situations like this demonstrate just how important strong working relationships and mutual aid partnerships are when multiple emergencies occur at the same time. We are extremely grateful for the agencies and personnel who work alongside us to ensure our communities continue to receive the help they need.

We appreciate these partnerships and, most importantly, are thankful for the positive outcome of this incident.

🚒🚁 One Team. One Mission. 🚁🚒

Tonight, Nakina Fire & Rescue had a few of our members join Waccamaw Fire & Rescue Department in Brunswick County as they hosted a Landing Zone Class with AirLink.

Training opportunities like this are another great demonstration that no matter the patch we wear, the uniform we put on, or the specialty we serve in, we are all ONE TEAM with ONE MISSION — protecting and serving our communities.

We are grateful for the partnerships we share with our neighboring departments, agencies, and healthcare partners. Working and training together strengthens all of us and helps ensure we are prepared when our communities need us most.

Thank you to Waccamaw Fire & Rescue Department for welcoming our members and to AirLink for providing this valuable training.

Different patches. Different departments. One team. One mission. ❤️🚒🚑🚁

🚒THANKFUL FOR OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS 🚒

Nakina Fire & Rescue is truly thankful for partners like this who continue to support our department and our community. Their generosity helps us provide important safety and educational materials and strengthens our mission of protecting our community and saving lives.

Partnerships like these make a difference, and we simply can’t thank you all enough for investing in Nakina Fire & Rescue and the people we are honored to serve.

From all of us at Nakina Fire & Rescue — THANK YOU for your continued support! 🚒🔥❤️

Thank you for the Operation Edith Materials.
This year we chose to donate them to Nakina Fire and Rescue so they may distribute to children in their district during Fire Safety Preparedness Week.

Thank you also, Mr. Rocky McPherson, for being patient with us during our picture taking process which sometimes can be quite complicated with a bunch
of females, as you saw first hand today. 😂

We appreciate everything you all do, along with all other local First Responders.
❤️🚒🚑🚨🚔

THANK YOU!
