This weekend Abby and I went to the Gunfighter Skies Airshow at Mountain Home Air Force Base. We went on Saturday, and honestly, it was incredible.
The precision, speed, coordination, and talent of those pilots was amazing to watch in person. It was one of the coolest events we’ve been to in a long time.
Then Sunday, two Air Force jets collided during the show. Thankfully, all four crew members were able to eject safely.
It is strange how quickly perspective can change.
One day you are watching confidence, precision, and years of training on display. The next day you are reminded how fragile life really is, even for some of the most highly trained people in the world.
Moments like this make me think about preparation.
Not just financially, but personally.
Are the people we love protected if life changes unexpectedly?
Have we had the conversations that matter?
Do we actually have a plan, or are we just assuming tomorrow comes like normal?
Very grateful the crews made it home safely, and grateful for the men and women who serve.
I really hope they continue doing the show in the future.
