There’s a lot that goes into a good guess.

Before Educated Guess Cabernet ever makes it into your glass, there are hundreds of decisions behind it, from where we source our fruit and when we pick, to blending trials, barrel choices, and plenty of tasting along the way.

Because despite the name, we don’t leave much up to chance. 🍷

Higher Education is where we take a deeper look at what Napa Valley can do.

Our ultra-premium collection of micro-production w**es is made in extremely limited quantities, with a closer focus on the decisions behind each bottle and just how much blending, structure and site can shape what ultimately ends up in your glass.

Continued education for the w**e-curious—no lecture hall required.

October in Napa Valley means harvest has our full attention. The days start early, the fruit tells us when it’s ready, and the crush pad is earning its keep.

This is the part of the year when months of watching, waiting, tasting, and hypothesizing finally turn into w**e.

The 2026 vintages are coming to fruition!

Some w**es easily earn a permanent spot in the rotation. The 2023 Educated Guess Estate Grown Chardonnay is one of ours.

Grown on our estate in Napa Valley, it’s the type of bottle makes a regular weeknight dinner feel a little more considered

Which is exactly why we have it on subscription. Choose the w**es you want, decide how often you want them, and let us take care of keeping the w**e rack stocked. No club shipment surprises, just your Roots Run Deep favorites showing up right on schedule.

Harvest hasn’t officially started at Roots Run Deep. Unless you ask our w**emaker, Macario Montoya.

Right now, our w**emaker’s days are spent bouncing between vineyards, collecting samples, tasting berries and watching the 2026 vintage get closer to the finish line.

Deciding when to pick has never come down to a single number on a page. It’s knowing how all those little clues, the brix, acidity and tannins, fit together. And knowing the vineyard well enough to listen when it tells you it’s ready.

Part science, part experience and, quite literally, an Educated Guess.

The fruit isn’t through our doors yet. But harvest season is very much underway. Learn more about our w**emaking philosophy at rootsrundeep.com/about-us/
