Tasting room is open daily 10a-3p (by appointment) Farming Zinfandel is a Biale family tradition that dates back to the early days of Napa. Today, Aldo Biale's vineyard is one of several historic sites from which Robert Biale Vineyards produces some of California's finest Zinfandels. Rarely found in stores, the small production Biale Zinfandels are obtained from the winery and are featured in Amer

ica's finest restaurants. In addition to Zinfandel, Biale produces a series of blockbuster wines from another of California's great original varieties - Petite Sirah.

Caught them! In all seriousness itā€™s important they taste the grapes but we couldnā€™t pass up the chance to have a little fun with it.

After a spike in sugars last Sunday harvest is in full swing at Biale.

Tom has been with Biale for 15 years (even longer as a Black Chicken Society Member) and Pat has been with Biale for 10 years. We are so grateful for them!! ā€œOn average we see a 1 to 2Ā° Brix increase weekly in vineyards under typical Napa Valley weather conditions - cool morning fog with highs in the low-to-mid 80s. When temperatures rise above 90Ā°F for multiple days, weā€™ll see a greater chance of sizeable jumps, especially in our dry-farmed old vine vineyards.

Brix is a driver of harvest decisions but looking at how sugar intersects with acid and tannin development paints the full picture. Itā€™s this complete view, taken very much with an eye towards the weather ahead, that determines when we harvest.ā€ - David Natali
