We're thrilled to participate with a barrel of our 2025 Covert Estate Coombsville Cabernet Franc (Lot #25). Crafted from 100% organically farmed Cabernet Franc grown on volcanic ash soils in Napa Valley's Coombsville AVA, this limited production wine showcases bright acidity, refined aromatics, and elegant structure shaped by the region's cool, fog-influenced climate. Aged 18 months in 60% new French oak, this wine is currently scheduled to release in December 2027.

An early March heatwave gave the vines a head start this season, accelerating growth and bringing the vineyard to full canopy earlier than usual. After the warmth of March, cooler April temperatures balanced the pace, creating a steady and even growing season. Today, we are pleased to introduce Covert’s 2023 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon: a wine that proves the power of restraint and the beauty of balance.

Napa Valley’s idyllic 2023 vintage was one of the longest, most mild growing seasons in recent memory. The absence of extreme weather allowed clusters to ripen slowly and evenly, yielding berries with exceptional depth of flavor and striking freshness. For our team, this vintage was an exercise in restraint, coaxing the fruit toward its optimal expression in the cellar without clouding its character or disturbing its natural equilibrium.

The 2023 “Black Label” Cabernet threads the needle with unerring precision, capturing not only the vibrant intensity and aromatic range of the harvest, but also its effortless grace and harmony. With generous fruit, fragrant depth, and elegant structure, this wine will honor its remarkable vintage for many years to come.

The fourth release of Covert Massale Selection Syrah is a sleek and spectacular expression of Coombsville terroir—seamless in structure, savory in aroma, and driven by a powerfully dark fruit core. The nose opens with dark blue and purple fruits layered with kola nut, cured salumi, and graphite, building in brooding anticipation. On the palate, waves of blackberry, boysenberry, and huckleberry swells alongside earthy notes of garrigue, to***co, and wild game for a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. Fresh red fruit acidity and fine-grain tannins carry the wine into a long, expressive finish of crushed berries, pepper, sandalwood, coffee, and lingering blue fruit.⁠
