Quixote Winery in Napa Valley has been called “whimsical” and “eccentric.” To those who have experienced Quixote’s architecture and breathtaking surroundings in the golden hillsides of the Stags Leap District appellation, the 42-acre wine-producing property is a world all its own. Designed by the world-famous, free-spirited Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the winery is the only Hunder

twasser building in the United States. The property is home to 29 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The 100% estate wines come from our vineyard that is farmed organically by famed Napa vineyard manager Michael Wolf. The fruit is then handed over to consulting winemaker Aaron Pott, who strives to create the most balanced wines to be enjoyed now or over the next 15+ years. The estate beckons the wine collector…but a collector with a sense of humor and a free mind who isn’t afraid to trade straight lines and traditional ways of thinking for curved floors and complete immersion with nature. Today, visitors are welcomed by a tree-lined drive and enveloping branches of old oaks, a walkway through wild grasses and finally the iconic onion-shaped gold dome stretching into the sky. The property was originally a part of the historic Stags’ Leap Winery and borders the vineyards that produce Shafer’s highly acclaimed Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon. 🍇 Well, look who decided to show up.

The first grapes of Harvest 2026 rolled into Quixote bright and early this morning — Petite Sirah, destined to become our 2026 Rosé of Petite Sirah. 💕🍷

And just like that, the quiet days are over.

The cellar is buzzing, the grapes are getting acquainted with their new surroundings, and we’re officially up to our elbows in harvest. (Literally soon enough.)

Here’s to the first of many bins, the beginning of something delicious, and another harvest full of a little chaos, a lot of hard work, and hopefully only a reasonable amount of grape juice on our clothes.

Scattered among the vines, you’ll find bird boxes — cozy little homes for some of our feathered neighbors.

They may be small, but these birds play an important role in the vineyard ecosystem, helping keep things naturally balanced.

And honestly, we think every good vineyard should have a few more birds, a little more biodiversity, and just enough Quixote whimsy.

Some legends don’t need an introduction. They just need another pour. 🍷⚔️

The Helmet of Mambrino Cabernet Sauvignon has been holding court in the Quixote lineup as our reserve Cab — bold, powerful, and just a little bit larger than life.

Named for the legendary helmet Don Quixote mistook for a magical golden treasure, this is a Cabernet worthy of its own bit of mythology.

Rich. Serious. A little dramatic.

In other words: exactly how we like our flagship Cab.

So, if your wine rack has been feeling a little too sensible lately, perhaps it’s time to reach for the helmet.

While your wine is busy making new friends in the glass, don't be surprised if a four-legged guest steals the spotlight. Well-behaved pups are always welcome at Quixote—they just have a way of making the day a little brighter.
