This is my why.
Not the titles.
Not the credentials.
Not the accomplishments.
This.
A daughter who watched me refuse to quit.
A grandson who reminds me every day that legacy is bigger than success.
Growing up in a small, underserved town in South Carolina, I rarely saw healthcare leaders who looked like me. What I did see were hardworking people doing the best they could with limited resources and limited access. I learned early that education could change the trajectory of a life, and I made a promise to myself that I would never waste the opportunities I was given.
The road here wasn’t easy.
I’ve experienced loss, adversity, uncertainty, single motherhood, and seasons that tested every ounce of my strength. There were moments when the easier option would have been to give up. Instead, I kept moving forward.
More than two decades later, healthcare remains my purpose.
Whether I’m helping organizations recover revenue, analyzing denials, improving physician documentation, advising leaders on compliance and operational strategy, or contributing to CPT education through my work with the AMA, my mission has always been the same:
To make healthcare systems better for the people who depend on them.
Because behind every claim, every chart, every denial, and every process is a patient.
As I rebranded Revenue Integrity Coding Partners, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what matters most. The answer wasn’t building the biggest company or chasing the next title.
It was impact.
It was creating something rooted in integrity, service, education, and excellence.
It was building a legacy my daughter could be proud of and creating a future my grandson can look at and know that anything is possible.
Today, I’m in a season of gratitude.
My daughter is thriving at the University of Louisville. My grandson is one of life’s greatest blessings. My work is aligned with my purpose. And for the first time in a long time, I have something I spent years chasing:
Peace.
This brand is more than consulting.
It’s the story of resilience. It’s the pursuit of excellence. It’s a commitment to serve.
And it’s proof that where you start doesn’t determine how far you can go.♥️
