CAST 2026- Day 3

We were excited to see what day three would bring, since days one and two were so spectacular! And as always, our breeders did not disappoint.

Kyle at Por La Mar toured us through their facilities featuring a strong selection of foliage ranging from 2” fern pod to 7 gallon Birds of Paradise. Plus the team is working on how to optimize shipping and freight rates to provide more options to East Coast customers for tropical foliage, so keep an eye out!

Benary showcased “Tablemate Gold”, a cute, petite rudbeckia which follows the trend of small table top pots this season.

Stephanie Whitehouse at Dümmen Orange walked us through their Calibrachoa assortment of best summer performer, “Bloomtastic”, and “Rainbow®” which is the only True Grower series where the blooms change color with temperature at bud set.

Michelle McElhannon at Dümmen Orange discussed the True North Perennials program, which is tested for two years in zone 3 (200 miles north of North Dakota)!

CAST 2026 - Day 2!

PanAm Seed walked us through their new releases, including their, Pink Beacon Impatiens, which rounded out their series.

A few of our crew posed in front of Ball’s new sunflower release, Always Sunny, which is pollen free! And we were delighted that Ball hosted our team for lunch.

At Hem Genetis the team was psyched about their new mini pansy, “Corina Honeyfrost” which are on trend with the smaller tabletop pots popular across all breeders.

Westhoff featured new, “Dragon Scales Fancifiller,” which is a great alternative to lysimachia (which has been recently placed on several states’ invasive species list).

CAST 2026 is almost wrapped and we’re excited to share that we’ve been up to!

Day 1 of CAST was great!

At Sakata and we were excited to celebrate their new coleus, “Party Time Orange”, which plays well in combos.

At Syngenta, Amy guided us to the “Guatemala” stop on their themed, “trip around the world,” where we learned more about new Blockbuster and Cora XDR Vinca varieties.

Kientzler had a fan favorite, The Ajuga Feathered Friends, breeding by Chris Hansen (Garden Solutions). We were impressed by its incredible flowering, and hardiness - up to zone 3.
