🚧 Safe crews start with safe work zones!

Tom Denison just wrapped up another Work Zone Traffic Control & Flagger Training with Maine Water, this time for the Skowhegan Division. 🦺

That makes three divisions trained so far, following Rockport and Biddeford.

Whether it's protecting crews, motorists, or pedestrians, good traffic control keeps everyone safe around active job sites. Our goal is practical, hands-on training that water professionals can put to work the moment they're back in the field.

Thank you to Maine Water Company and Jamie Bowden for making safety and professional development a priority. We're so proud to be part of it! 👏

❄️ Winter is coming, and for water utilities, now is the time to revisit your ERPs and make sure your team is ready for whatever this season brings!

At Tom’s Water Solutions, we’ve worked with utilities of every size, and the ones that weather heavy storms best are the ones who prepare and train before the season starts 👏

A few things every utility should review before winter hits:
✅ Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) are current and staff know their roles
✅ Critical infrastructure is protected and backup power is ready
✅ Mutual aid agreements and emergency contacts are up to date
✅ Staff have practiced response scenarios, not just read the plan

Storms don’t wait for the ideal moment — but a well-trained team with a tested plan can keep water flowing when it matters most! 💧

🚨 Our fall operator training season is underway! 🚨

We’re starting with a Hybrid Class I Treatment & Distribution Exam Prep course for beginners at Everett J. Prescott Inc. in Gardiner, in partnership with Maine Water Utilities Association.

From now through December, we’ll be hitting the road, filling classrooms, and helping operators build the knowledge and confidence they need to take on their exams. 💧📚

🌱 TWS is growing!

We’re excited to welcome DeAnna Halunen to the Tom’s Water Solutions team as our newest intern.

Originally from Carver, Massachusetts, DeAnna is entering her senior year at Saint Joseph's College, studying Environmental Science, Marine Science, and Criminal Justice.

She’s passionate about environmental consulting, EHS, and sustainability, and will be gaining hands-on experience with con-ops, compliance, and safety training during her time with us. She also serves as president of her campus EcoReps Club and has a particular interest in the impacts of microplastics on water 💧

Outside of school, DeAnna enjoys hiking, thrifting, concerts, collecting video game consoles, and spending time with animals 🐈🦎🐞
