Are you trying to downsize but are stuck because you're still storing your grown kids' stuff? It's time for a little "tough love." If you're still storing your kids' stuff, give them a deadline to pick up their stuff. If they don't make the deadline and give you a lot of excuses, explain that you are trying to get organized and downsize. It's not an easy task to begin with, but when you're saddles with guilt and with your kids' stuff, the task of decluttering and downsizing only gets more difficult. Set boundaries. One closet. One hour. It's amazing how much you can accomplish with the help of a Professional Organizer. This client was using his guest bedroom closet as a catchall for excess pillows, sheets and blankets, luggage and seasonal clothing. He had no idea what was in the closet until we completely emptied the space and put back only those items he used, needed and liked. This is why you hire a professional organizer.

Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we need to be aware of our bodies every day, not just during the month of October. If you haven't already scheduled your annual mammogram, do it today! Insurance pays for an annual mammogram. It takes three minutes and contrary to what some people say, it does NOT hurt! What hurts is chemotherapy! Getting an annual mammogram does NOT hurt! Respect your body. Care for your body! 💓

Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you need to be in touch with your body every day of the year. If you haven't had your annual mammogram, stop procrastinating and schedule one today. Some people avoid having a mammogram because they are misinformed and think it hurts. Let me tell you, having to undergo chemotherapy hurts a whole lot more than having a mammogram!

Whatever you do, do NOT store paint cans in the garage unless it's airconditioned. The best thing you can do is to save a quart-sized container of each color and to mark the outside of the can with the paint color, sheen, date (including year) and the room. Keep the paint in a cool place. Remember, paint will go bad eventually, especially if it's stored in a hot garage.
