A Pennsylvania State Police Trooper was reportedly killed in the line of duty early this morning following a tragic crash along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.

According to initial reports, the trooper, assigned to the Frackville Barracks, was conducting a Department of Transportation inspection on a tractor-trailer along the interstate when another commercial truck struck the scene. The impact reportedly caused the vehicle involved to erupt into flames.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the trooper succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities have not yet released the trooper’s identity pending notification of family members, and details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.

The loss of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers first responders face every day while working to keep our highways and communities safe. Traffic stops, crash investigations, and commercial vehicle inspections place troopers just feet away from fast-moving traffic, often in hazardous conditions.

The Pennsylvania State Police community, fellow first responders, and residents across the Commonwealth are mourning this devastating loss. Pennsylvania averages 16 tornados a year so far up to 21 in June. Indiana and Illinois has been a hot spot also. Has tornado alley moved more East over these states and does it have an impact on Pennsylvania also? It seems to be that way this year.

PLEASE READ AND SHARE AND HELP IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE

For years I have been providing winter weather forecasts and still continue to serve the area while living in Indiana. My passion remains strong for the south east pa region as all my family lives there and my love for all of you but now we need your help more then ever. The last 3 weeks have been filled with a lot of worries as I have taken many trips to the hospital and many days in the ICU with a heart issue that doctors are still trying to figure out the cause. This has left me out of work and bills are stacking up. I have served my community as a firefighter/ems for 15 years and ran this page for over 6 years because it’s what I love doing and wouldn’t change it for anything. Please pray for me during these tough times as I don’t know what the future holds but I will still be here forecasting until my body no longer allows me to.
