Please, stop 🛑 doing these 5 things on your business page, it may be causing you to miss out on potential clients and customers!
⠀
*Read the takeaways if you don't feel like reading the entire post*
⠀
#1. Stop mixing your personal and business accounts! There is nothing more confusing than going to a business page, and seeing personal photos that don't relate to the brand or product. If someone comes to your business page and expects to see...let's say, hair products, don't ruin their experience or lose a potential client because you want to share pictures of your cute pup.
⠀
Takeaway: Separate business and personal.
⠀
#2. Stop sharing too much! Yup, theres a such thing as sharing too much on social media. Hubspot did a study that showed business pages with under 10K followers that posted more than 1X per day experienced a 50% engagement drop per post on FB! As for IG you should not post more than 3X's a day!
⠀
Takeaway: Keep your followers wanting more, don't overwhelm them with too many posts!
⠀
#3. Stop sharing your personal opinions! It's important to keep personal opinions and affiliations separate from your company. Posting about politics, religion, or personal opinions may do more harm than good if you end up insulting potential clients and customers.
⠀
Takeaway: Try to remain as unbiased as possible.
⠀
#4. Stop trying to sell your product(s) in every single post! Social media was designed for you to interact with others. While the ultimate purpose of your company having social media is to sell to your product(s), selling should not be the first and only thing you do. Instead, try to engage your audience and build a relationship with them prior to you trying to sell them on your product.
⠀
Takeaway: Consumers buy from people and brands they like and trust.
⠀
#5. Stop criticizing other companies! We all have competitors, but there's no need to bash another company. It makes your company look bad and can cause you to lose customers.
⠀
Takeaway: Don't trash talk, it's not a good look.
